New 9/11 audio is being released today played at the 9/11 Commission hearing. Flight attendant Betty Ong calling the American Airlines reservation desk regarding the hijackers taking over American Airlines Flight 11 Boeing 767, before it struck the North Tower of the World Trade Center.

I love the way you all are saying Never Forget. I had one of the DC Chapter pins that said Never Forget 9/11, wore it every day, and the lefties would crane over to see what it said, thinking it was some antiwar slogan, and then draw back appalled. The chutzpah! To say Never Forget!

I'd say most definately. I had seen the family members of the flight attendant sitting in the audience when this tape was played and it was very obvious how painful it was for them to listen. I can't even imagine.....

I know it pales against the human toll, but...
Having been deprived FOREVER of the ability to see/visit the WTC towers,
I get really uplifted whenever they appear in some old footage, e.g.,
in the background of Die Hard III or in Rick Burns documentary on
The Brooklyn Bridge.

I'm so happy that political-correctness and concerns about offending some folks
hasn't yet erased the image from the public forum.

It's sort of like "our flag AND our towers are still there".

OMG. I'd totally forgotten about that link. I'm a sobbing mess right now -- happens every time I see that one.

In a weird confluence of events, on the night of 9/10/01, one of my best friends from college and her then-fiance nearly had a car crash (in the parking lot of a convenience store in Maine) with 2 of the hijackers who nearly killed me the next morning.

Listening to the reservation guy... in hindsight, I'm sure he regrets his impatience with Betty.

These calls showcase how woefully inadequate we have prepared for something like this. We had become sheep, trusting to others to protect us. No more.
