Vote for a Democrat and you get the same runaway government spending, but as an added bonus you get the appeasement of our enemy, instead of its destruction.OK, I won't vote for a Democrat.

I also continue to avoid New York City, but of course, I was avoiding NYC pre-9/11.
Bring 'em on, I say. I'm tired of the fear rhetoric and think we should be more like the Israelis, who live under constant threat and don't let it interfere with their lives.

Keep in mind the WOT will likely continue for decades. We will have to FUND the WOT, but we are digging ourselves into a fantastic financial hole right now.
Does anyone have any idea what just our debt service alone will be when interest rates return to 7%-8% levels?

1993 World Trade Center Bombing - "He[Clinton] also said he would implement a policy of "continued monitoring. ...Despite his rhetoric, Clinton made no changes in policy to prevent additional attacks"
June 25, 1996 Khobar Towers Bombing - "According to Johnson, early indications were that the explosive used in the bombing of the Khobar Towers came out of the Becca Valley in Lebanon. A year later, however, Clinton restored full diplomatic relations with Lebanon including lifting travel restrictions and trade restrictions, Johnson said, "without requiring them to locate, arrest, apprehend or compensate U.S. citizens. He just let it go."
August 7, 1998 Embassy Bombings- "On Aug. 20, 1998, Clinton ordered cruise missile attacks on suspected terrorist training camps in Afghanistan and a pharmaceutical plant in Khartoum, Sudan. ... Clinton was always good about biting his lip, tears welling up in his baggy eyes and talking about, 'We're waging a new war on terrorism,' and yet also during this period he basically cut the heart out of CIA," Johnson said."
October 12, 2000 USS Cole Bombing- "Clinton ordered U.S. Navy ships into the Yemeni region and directed ground forces to step up their security measures. "They spent a lot of money but it was always a symbolic gesture without the substantive approach," Johnson said "

So as far as voting goes, you need to take the WOT off the table, it's a non issue or soon will be.
I'm sorry, but that is a ludicrous statement. And, I am afraid,an equally ludicrous sentiment.

Ya'll need to listen to the news more. I thought it was common knowledge that we are pulling out of Iraq by summer.

I do and I'm far more directly involved than you are. .I stand by my statements.

There is no need to get all scared that the WOT won't be run the right way, it's gonna be over by this June anyway. Iraq is but a battle in the WOT.

So you figure Iraq is the last frontier in the war on terror?
Wrong.
You are the one who needs to pay attention.

but it's not gonna fly.

Well...someone needs to explain to the Islamic fundamentalists that they need to quit the war by June 30.
It's absurd to believe that the terrorists are going to be so accomodating that they will stop fighting just because the US set a deadline of June 30th to turn over governmental control of Iraq.
The War on Terror is still on the table... in fact... it's the centerpiece of the table and this reelection.

So where do we go after leaving Iraq? Without looking like an international bully that is? Seriously, we hear about going into Pakistan, but I don't see us going into Iran, Syria, Lebanon, Jordon, certainly not Suadi Arabia, Lybia has rolled over.
I don't see a future destination for this war.
To: MissAmericanPie
First, we're not "leaving Iraq" high and dry. You are confusing two issues.
Second, President Bush will get bin Laden, dead or alive, as one aspect that has not been completed.
The WOT continues.

I am planning on voting for Herman Cain for Senator from GA. He appears to be the most conservative, but, Mac Collins isn't far behind. He's my second choice.
