Ford, noting he was the last surviving member of the Warren Commission that determined Lee Harvey Oswald acted alone in killing Kennedy

And for that, he is just as guilty as the other conspirators... an accesory after the fact.

There is NO WAY Oswald did that shooting in the manner the Warren Commission claims.

To believe the Warren Commission, you must believe the Magic Bullet Theory.

Lyndon B. Johnson was not involved in the JFK assassination. He was, however, the most destructive politician this country has ever produced. His grave should be dug up, the coffin should be opened, and used as an outdoor toilet.

Other Johnson aides scheduled to participate are Jack Valenti, now head of the Motion Picture Association of America; journalist Bill Moyers; and attorney Larry Temple.

Well The History Channel and it's owners have stepped in it this time.

LadyBird and Carter represent the Democrat Establishment
Bill Moyers represents the Liberal TV establishment.
Jack Valenti is the Hollywood Establishment.

There are no do-gooders left to come to their defense.

LBJ didn't do it. It was the military-industrial complex, aided by future SUV owners.

LBJ was probably the most ruthless SOB ever to inhabit the White House. No way will we ever know for sure, but it was certainly within his character to have done it.

Oswald: "I'm a patsy."

Ruby: "I've been used."

Find out why these remarks were made and the 'conspiracy' will unravel.

I use the word, 'conspiracy' loosely, as it was no conspiracy, IMO. It was an operation. The only people who didn't know about it was the general public and JFK.

Ford, noting he was the last surviving member of the Warren Commission....

What was Specter's role? I thought he was on the Commission when he first put forth the "magic bullet" theory? Or was he just counsel?

I think it's pretty gutsy to call out a man that's been dead for over 30 years. I'm no fan of LBJ. Growing up in Texas, I know how crooked he was.

However, I'm also aware of four simple facts.

First, it is possible that Oswald acted alone. I don't think it's likely, particularly when he gets knocked off by a guy that runs a topless bar and has known mob connections. I have several other problems with this scenario, but the Ruby hit on Oswald is the biggest indicator to me that something bigger was going on.

Second, LBJ, even in his biography, was more interested in getting the Kennedy assassination investigation finished than in an actual investigation (in his book, he phrases it more like putting the American people's mind at ease or something. It's been years since I read it).

Third, so many people have traipsed over the evidence that it's impossible to clearly determine what is fact, wishful thinking, planted evidence, lost evidence, etc. Trying to discover the truth now is like trying to use a bloodhound to track someone who walked through Grand Central Station in 1963.

Fourth, a series of events took place that made the Kennedy assassination the most tantalizing mystery in US history. It happened in front of millions of people; there were videos and photos of it; the murderer wasn't seen by anyone at the time of the assassination; he got murdered a couple of days later by a guy who later died of cancer. It's a cottage industry that probably brings in more money than Roswell, the Loch Ness monster and Harry Potter combined. There will always be another theory, as long as there's a buck to be made.

I think you have to ask yourself why the "Elites," like Velenti, Moyers and others come out of the woodwork when theories are presented to the masses on film or tape. You don't seem to hear from them when the same theories are published in book form.

Thanks for the ping, grizzfan

An "intelligent read" for those who haven't got the time to reseach the JFK assassination themselves:
Why I'm No Longer a Conspiracy Buff

By Michael Beck / January 17, 1998

mcadams.posc.mu.edu/oncebuff.htm

Cutting to the chase - an excerpt of the closing:

The Physical Evidence

I won't spend a lot of time here. The physical evidence all points toward Oswald's guilt. It was his rifle, the ammunition matched his gun, and a photograph of him holding the rifle (backyard photo) and actual fingerprints also tie him to the weapon that he denied even owning. That's pretty open and shut. Other than that, you have his pistol, the match to the primer marks on the discarded .38 cartridges, and his physical location in the Texas Theater. The medical evidence, when analyzed properly, also shows two shots to the back of JFK; one in the back of the head and one in the upper back that punched through his throat. Again, pretty cut and dried. Reading too much into the autopsy report is an interesting mental exercise. However, I tend to believe that the medical experts that examined ALL of this material for the HSCA got it right.

Conclusion

In conclusion, I used to believe in a conspiracy but "reformed" after applying a healthy dose of "common sense" to my beliefs.

My "conversion" resulted from applying the same critical analysis techniques that the "buffs" used to attack the Warren Commission report.

It also involved personal visits to the crime scene (now totaling over 6) and independent research on shooting and ballistics.

It also involved seeing the most vociferous buffs such as Robert Groden, David Lifton, and Oliver Stone for what they are; Hucksters with an Agenda.

I kick myself now for ever believing in them at all.

"Former Presidents Ford and Carter also sent letters citing the documentary, "The Guilty Men," which aired last November as part of a series of History Channel specials on the Nov. 22, 1963 assassination."

Not ALL Republicans are good. Ford was a brain damaged idiot. He really couldn't chew gum and walk at the same time, and like a piece of malodorous flotsam, he keeps surfacing everytime the Dems and liberals need a cheering section.

As for Jimmy Carter? Well, he IS Jimmy Carter you know.

No surprises there!!

Personally, I believe there was a conspiracy and personally I believe Johnson MAY have been involved in it. I think the History Channel's coverage of the event was most stimulating and Ladybird, Ladybird should fly away home.

Her husband was a total disgrace, a crude fool who orchestrated the worst military catastrophe in American history. There is NOTHING too vile to impute about that wretch.
