Kerry Took Cash From Chinese Military Intelligence

Democrats are counting on Sen. John Kerry's military credentials to convince voters that he can be trusted with America's national security.
But documents that surfaced over the weekend raise serious questions about whether Kerry was duped in the 1990s into helping the Chinese military perfect its ability to strike the U.S. with nuclear weapons.
In 1996 Kerry met with Liu Chaoying, the daughter of a powerful Chinese military official who also doubled as vice president of a subsidiary of the state-owned China Aerospace Corp.
Before the meeting, held in Kerry's Senate office, Liu's sponsor, Johnny Chung, made clear she was interested in getting her company listed on the U.S. Stock Exchange.
The Democratic presidential front-runner was only too happy to oblige and ordered his aides to contact the Securities and Exchange Commission.
"The next day," reports Newsweek, "Liu and Chung were ushered into a private briefing with a senior SEC official."
Within weeks, Chung returned the favor, staging a Kerry fund raiser at a Beverly Hills hotel that raked in $10,000 for the senator's re-election campaign.
Bank records would later show that Kerry's Chinese campaign cash came from $300,000 in overseas wire transfers sent to Chung on orders from the chief of Chinese military intelligence, Newsweek reports.
The money was routed through a Hong Kong bank account controlled by Liu, whose company later benefited from waivers granted by the Clinton administration to the U.S. aerospace giant Loral Corp.
As Liu and Chung were lining the pockets of the Democratic Party's political elite, Loral handed over top-secret missile guidance technology to Liu's firm.
Liu's China Aerospace used the information to perfect Beijing's fleet of intercontinental ballistic missiles, which before the 1990s could not strike the U.S.
By the end of the decade, however, China's ICBMs could reach the entire continental United States with pinpoint accuracy, thanks in part to the senator who says now he can be trusted with America's national security.
Chung later testified that before Liu wired him the cash to contribute to prominent Democrats, the chief of Chinese intelligence personally told him: "We like your president. We want to see him re-elected."
Apparently, Beijing felt the same way about Sen. John Kerry.

More shameful behavior by John F. Kerry.
As someone who has worn my country's uniform proudly, I hav no use for this guy whatsoever. Given this information on top of his record after returning home from Vietnam, I can't help but wonder whose side Kerry is on.

Here is another article relating to this
http://www.nypost.com/news/nationalnews/17080.htm February 2, 2004 -- CHARLESTON, S.C. - Democratic front-runner John Kerry had closer personal contact than he's ever acknowledged with fat cat Johnny Chung, who gave him illegal campaign cash during the Bill Clinton funny-money scandals, it was reported yesterday.
There's proof that Kerry met Chung weeks earlier than he has claimed - and it's in Kerry's own hand in a "Dear Johnny" note that refers to the meeting and thanks Chung for being "on my team," Newsweek reported.
Chung pleaded guilty to funneling $10,000 to Kerry and $18,000 to Clinton's 1996 reelection on orders from Chinese intelligence.
Kerry returned the money, and there's no suggestion he knew it was illegal; the issue is whether he told the truth when he was doing damage control and trying to distance himself from Chung.
Chung came to Kerry's office in July 1996 to seek help in getting a Chinese official in to see a Securities and Exchange Commission official, and within a week, Kerry's staff wrote Chung asking him to host a Sept. 9 fund-raiser.
Kerry has claimed he never met Chung until that Sept. 9 fund-raiser but the "Dear Johnny" note is dated July 31 and says: "It was a great pleasure to have met you last week."
Kerry yesterday called it "old news" and claimed the "Dear Johnny" note was routine in fund-raising, adding, "I have no recollection of it at all."
The report came a day after the revelation that Kerry - who is railing against "special interests" - holds the Senate record for taking campaign cash from lobbyists.

Newsweek was the first to publish this story:
http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/1069958/posts NEWSWEEK: Cash and Kerry
Newsweek ^ | Feb. 9th issue | Michael Isikoff
Posted on 02/02/2004 6:36:51 AM PST by counterpunch
Feb. 9 issue - John Kerry needed cash, and soon. In July 1996 the Massachusetts senator was locked in a tough re-election fight, so he was more than happy to help when he heard that a generous potential contributor wanted to visit his Capitol Hill office. The donor was Johnny Chung, a glad-handing Taiwanese-American entrepreneur. Chung brought along some friends, including a Hong Kong businesswoman named Liu Chaoying.
Told that Liu was interested in getting one of her companies listed on the U.S. Stock Exchange, Kerry's aides immediately faxed over a letter to the Securities and Exchange Commission. The next day, Liu and Chung were ushered into a private briefing with a senior SEC official. Within weeks, Chung returned the favor: On Sept. 9 he threw Kerry a fund-raiser at a Beverly Hills hotel, raking in $10,000 for the senator's re-election campaign.
In a 30-year career untainted by scandal, Kerry's encounter with Chung and Liu would turn into a political embarrassment. Federal investigators later discovered that Liu was in fact a lieutenant colonel in China's People's Liberation Army and vice president of a Chinese-government-owned aerospace firm. And Chung, who visited the Clinton White House 49 times, went on to become a central figure in the foreign-money scandals of 1996. Chung eventually pleaded guilty to funneling $28,000 in illegal contributions to the campaigns of Bill Clinton and Kerry. According to bank records and Chung's congressional testimony, the contributions came out of $300,000 in overseas wire transfers sent on orders from the chief of Chinese military intelligenceand routed through a Hong Kong bank account controlled by Liu.

If John Effin' Kerry dipped his wick in the PLA campaign funds trough, then the Clintons have the goods on him.
And, since they have a means of controlling him, they have no reason not to let Kerry win the nomination. McAuliffe and their minions at the DNC are secure.
By the same token, Kerry can be assured that the White House will never be his.
Which is just fine by me...

Heard a Kerry sycophant saying that Kerry didn't need money from anyone because of his 'personal position' (meaning his rich wife, I guess) so therefore, he didn't have to give the lobbyists anything for their money.
If there's logic or truth to that statement, I am too ignorant to understand.
