SORRY: How TSG cost 60 Minutes a Jacko exclusive

FEBRUARY 5--It took almost three days, but the first lawsuit has been filed in connection with Janet Jackson's breast. A Tennessee woman yesterday filed a proposed class action lawsuit "on behalf of all Americans" who watched the Super Bowl halftime show and were somehow injured by Miss Jackson's adorned nipple. In the below federal complaint, Terri Carlin, a 47-year-old Knoxville bank employee, contends that Jackson's exposure and other "sexually explicit conduct" during halftime festivities caused viewers to "suffer outrage, anger, embarrassment and serious injury." Details of those supposed injuries were not further described in the complaint filed by attorney Wayne A. Ritchie II. Along with Jackson, Carlin has named as defendants Justin Timberlake, CBS, MTV, and Viacom. Carlin's complaint seeks compensatory and punitive damages, though an exact dollar figure is not specified. But it seems billions would be in order since Carlin notes that punitive damages should not exceed the gross revenues of all defendants for the past three years. (8 pages)

"suffer outrage, anger, embarrassment and serious injury."

I did. The awful music, Janet and Justin did it to me without even having to see Janet's breast. :) Or rather it would have if I hadn't had the sense not to watch it in the first place.

"Oh my god, a titty. The world is going to come crashing down now! Children are going to be damaged for life and adults will need counseling!"

Just fine them for doing something they knew was not allowed under FCC rules for public broadcast.

I didn't know a woman's breast was such an offense. It's as if some of these people never seen a breast. At least Justin Timberlake is included because he sure is stepping and dogging the rest of public outrage.

As usual the focus is brought down to the lowest common denominator; the mindless and classless vulgairty that passes for entertainment.

But, what about something more important? - Homeland Security!

As much as liberals like to tell us that radical islamists want to kill us because of our foriegn policy, it is clear that they feel American culture is the root of all that is bad and the debasement of their society. Why then, is it not important to discuss why CBS would broadcast the filthy and perverted content of this entire half time cesspol to billions of people around the world as if just to thumb our collectively vulgar noses at their cultures and values?

Can the argument be made that this was a stupid and inconsiderate way of taunting the warriors of AlQeada? Maybe the entertainment and leftleaning media doesn't think so. But, then again these are the people who think putting a Crucifix in a urine jar and smearing feces on the Virgin Mary raises the conciousness of Christians.

We missed the whole thing because we retired to the kitchen to stuff our faces during half time.

However, I was definitely traumatized when I read about on the next day. Where's my money?

Maybe so, but with the CBS/MTV/Janet/Justin all apologizing they may have open the door to the suit themselves.

I mean why say SORRY if you didn't do anything wrong???

BTW AOL (I think it's AOL) wants it advertising bucks back too.

You know, they were wrong to do what they did. But this is getting a little out of hand, just like you said it was just a boob it wasn't a sexual act, it wasn't even a foul word. Nobody is suing John F-ing Kerry for cursing on t.v., I say Enough already.

Hey, at least this this lawsuit is for a good cause. Where do I sign?

AOL/Time Warner should have known what they were getting into, with MTV producing, and they should take responsibility for advertising during the Super Bowl. Of course since they are Kerry's second largest campaign contributer, what do you expect?

This is NOT the first time a girl's breast has been on tv. I remember watching New York Undercover and they showed a woman's breast right on tv. I suppose this woman can sue if she wants, but who really cares? You're right about John F. I'd like to sue Rolling Stone Mag for fluffing up Al Gore's crotch personally.
