CONSERVATIVE UPRISING OVER IMMIGRATION

Conservative Republican Howard Kaloogian is leading an opposition effort against amnesty and drivers licenses for illegal aliens.

(SAN DIEGO) -- Howard Kaloogian [website: www.HowardForSenate.com] isn’t just a candidate for U.S. Senate against the extremist liberal, Barbara Boxer. Kaloogian is leading an effort to stop Republicans from ‘selling out’ on the issue of illegal immigration.

Conservatives have become increasingly dismayed to see Republican political leaders, including President Bush and California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger, beating the drumbeat to reward illegal immigrants with an array of benefits and rights including amnesty and drivers licenses.

Bush made international headlines by proposing an 'amnesty on the installment plan' that would not only allow illegal immigrants already in the U.S. to stay for an indefinite amount of time, but would invite non-citizens to enter this country with a free pass. If this happens, hundreds of thousands of U.S. jobs would be taken by non-citizens from throughout the world.

And in California, Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger announced that he is near a deal with Democrats in the state legislature to reintroduce a bill that would allow illegal immigrants to receive a drivers license. What's worse is that California's Motor Voter law allows individuals to register to vote when they obtain their drivers license. Thus, millions of non-citizens could become registered to vote and impact national policy.

KALOOGIAN STANDING UP TO THE ESTABLISHMENT

While Kaloogian is a strong supporter of the President’s tax cuts, war on terrorism and national defense policies, he is strongly opposed to the immigration plan.

But Kaloogian believes, “if my campaign for U.S. Senate is victorious then I will have sent a powerful message to both Schwarzenegger and Bush that they need to rethink their plans because the voters are not with them on this issue.”

And Howard Kaloogian has a record of shaking up the establishment.

Kaloogian was the founder and Chairman of the Recall Gray Davis Committee [website: www.RecallGrayDavis.com] which shocked the world by successfully recalling the first statewide official in California history.

Kaloogian had to overcome resistance by Republican leaders who opposed the recall effort in the early days including former Secretary of State Bill Jones who is Kaloogian’s chief rival in the Senate race.

Jones has disappointed Republicans in the Golden State by not opposing either the President’s amnesty plan or Schwarzenegger’s “drivers license for illegal aliens” proposal.

And the woman that Howard Kaloogian hopes to unseat as U.S. Senator is even worse on the immigration issue.

Barbara Boxer has introduced her own blanket amnesty for illegal aliens and she also has fought to grant free tuition for children of illegal immigrants in California's state funded universities.

KALOOGIAN RALLYING CONSERVATIVES NATIONWIDE – NEEDS HELP

Immigration reform advocates including Ron Prince, who authored California’s Proposition 187, which would deny taxpayer-funded benefits for illegal immigrants, have endorsed Kaloogian.

Kaloogian has also been endorsed by Bruce Herschensohn, State Senator and Recall Gubernatorial candidate Tom McClintock, Dr. James Dobson, Star Parker and Phyllis Schlafly. Leading conservative organizations including Eagle Forum, Concerned Women for America, Republican Liberty Caucus, National Tax Limitation Committee, Gann Taxpayer Organization and Gun Owners of America have also endorsed Kaloogian.

Polls show Kaloogian surging but his largest obstacle is funding. Kaloogian has raised approximately $200,000 but will need at least $1,000,000 to fund a statewide television ad campaign to position himself to win the GOP nomination for U.S. Senate.

Kaloogian has appealed to conservatives throughout the nation to step forward to support his efforts so he can be a national voice in Congress to advocate for a secured border and block efforts to grant amnesty or drivers licenses to non-citizens.

He is in search of 8,000 individuals from throughout the nation to contribute $100 so he can raise the necessary $1,000,000 in the next 3 weeks.

You can help Howard Kaloogian reach his fundraising goals by making a contribution online right now by CLICKING HERE.

Campaign finance law allows individuals to contribute as much as $2,000 and Kaloogian is hoping to raise a bulk of his funds from donors who will make such a contribution.

If he is successful, Kaloogian believes this will send a strong and clear message to Republican leaders: “Our leadership is going down the wrong path. You are abandoning your base and a majority of voters overall and failing to uphold your constitutional duties to protect our borders and national sovereignty."

Jim Oberweis has also caught my attention. He has run a few campaign adds here voicing his displeasure with Pres. Bush`s immigration proposal. Here is a link to read about him: http://www.oberweis2004.com/news_story24.htm

If Kaloogian continues to be the only candidate who is willing to speak out on this issue, then that is the best idea yet!

Great! Let's nominate Kaloogian, so Boxer can have a landslide victory.

PS. At first I kept an open mind about him and considered him as a possibility, but if his best effort is to run around attacking President Bush in an election year, and he and is planning to run a far right campaign, he may get the Republican nomination, but he is going to lose by a landslide to Boxer.

Wanting our borders closed and laws enforced is a "far right" position? Where is he running around attacking Bush? Here's a quote from the story:

While Kaloogian is a strong supporter of the President’s tax cuts, war on terrorism and national defense policies, he is strongly opposed to the immigration plan.

He's disagreeing with Bush's policies on immigration, as millions of us are. That doesn't mean he's a far right-winger.

Cool - thanks for posting that! I want to see more and more people rally together to oppose:

A) Amnesty for Illegal Aliens

and...

B) Drivers Licenses for Illegal Aliens

Only if the establishment sees growing foment from the base will we knock down these pandering attempts to buy votes from liberals by rewarding those who break the law.

I don't think any other candidate has a chance to beat Boxer but Kaloogian.

Having an "echo" to Boxer or someone who is weak and timid is a surefire way to lose.

Bruce Herschensohn actually performed STRONGER against Boxer than the more liberal Matt Fong.

Boxer is a mean witch of a lady. And you better have a nominee who can hold his/her own against her and be a street fighter.

Only Howard Kaloogian fits that bill! If you want Boxer beat there is no other choice than Kaloogian for U.S. Senate!

Why don't you go start moderates for Jones threads instead of trashing this one?

The problem is that most GOP candidates are patsies and panzies. They have no fight in them, are afrain of their own shadowm and would rather die than fight. If they only fought the fight, we would not be all upset over here, because our agenda would be being implemented. Its like Robert the Bruce in Braveheart.

Californians support Howard Kaloogian's stance on immigration issues.

If you want a nominee who can beat Boxer - pick one who is right on the issues on principle and is with the public.

Ahhh - he just makes more BUMPs to the thread. I don't mind his statements, because the facts are on our side. The moral justification (who is best on the issues) is on our side.

It just makes him look bitter that Kaloogian is starting to rally the base and get some traction.

Kaloogian isn't attacking Bush, he's trying to keep him from making a grave mistake. Since super majorities in CA supported Prop. 187 and opposed the drivers' license bill, this amnesty plan is going to clobber Bush come November. Far from hurting President Bush's re-election effort, Kaloogian's constructive criticism will hopefully help by getting the White House to drop a bad plan.

I think he is the only person who can beat her! He is NOT running around attacking the president, he is simply stating that this immigration policy is DEAD WRONG.

The last thing we need going into this General Election is a candidate who is nothing more than "Boxer Light", and with George W. spending like a drunk teenager with daddy's credit cards, we certainly don't want another "tax and spender" in the Senate!
