Houston Chronicle ^ | 2/5/2004

Hoping to follow former Bond girls such as Halle Berry, Jane Seymour and Ursula Andress, Britney Spears met in London recently with the producers of the James Bond movies, reportedly at her request.

Spears' Web site says she has signed on to produce and star in an adaptation of author Tobi Tobin's Door to Door, in which she will play a teenager trying to catch her big break in Hollywood.

Aw c'mon, it might not be that bad. She could do well as a "Bond Girl". (So long as they don't give her any lines, that is.)

Most Bond girls couldn't act much. If they doll her up real good, it might not be so bad.

Oh, stop your whinning..... I've seen far worse Bond Girls than Brittany. Remember when Grace Jones was one? I've never been that desperate.

Britany Spears

The very thought of this moronic, sleazy little guttersnipe soiling a Bond movie should be enough to freeze thy young blood, make thy two eyes, like stars, start from their spheres, thy knotted and combined locks to part, and each particular hair to stand an end like quills upon the fretful porpentine.

But then...maybe it's just me.

The picture proves my point. She doesn't look like some savvy, mature, seductress. She looks like some trampy lipglossed high school kid showing off her latest purchases from the local Wal-Mart.

She can't possibly be worse than Lynn Holly Johnson (For Your Eyes Only) can she? Actually, I don't want to find out.

With the exception of Jill St. John, all the American Bond girls have been duds, IMO.

Hell I'll take Britney as a Bond girl, especially since someone in the industry threw around the idea that 007 should have a homosexual counter a few years back.

Let's come up with some other good Bond girl names for her.

How about--Traila Parks?

The first few Bond movies were really good and so were the girls.

Now Bond movies are basically cartoons. I guess they are entertaining to some but I hate them. In Dr. No and Goldfinger, From Russia With Love, and Thunderball, Bond did not do anything that a well trained agent couldn't do.

Now he routinely does Superman type stunts. For me they should have at least a little believeability.

BTW there hasn't been a decent "Bond Girl" in a long time too.

They can't be that stupid...

Obviously, you have joined the rest of us that have past out of the "desirable" demographic segment.

It appears that, if true, they will be appealing to whatever the "Britney" generation is called.

BTB, I heard a couple of authors of a Bond book a year or so ago. Sounded interesting in that they had the stories on
Flemming's relationship with the producers, how the quality of writing is inversely proportional to the gadgets and special
effects, product placements, etc. Can't recall the title, though.
