MTV Networks revs up gay-themed Outlet
NEW YORK (Variety) --- MTV Networks, buoyed by positive talks with top cable operators, has begun stepping up the planning for Outlet, a 24-hour network aimed at gays and lesbians.
In development for more than two years, Outlet failed to launch in 2002 because MTV had brought in sister network Showtime to market it as a pay channel.
When that strategy didn't pass muster with cable operators, Showtime bowed out of the picture and MTV repositioned Outlet as an ad-supported, digital, basic cable network.
But with that repositioning, MTV has had to change its programming blueprint to lifestyle shows rather than hard-edged series and movies that push the boundaries of content. Outlet will likely become a part of MTV's the Suite lineup (consisting of MTV, VH1 and Nickelodeon).

We used to watch MTV but the programing became so raunchy it was embarrasing to watch.

Yet another reason I'm happy we don't get cable.
Why pay to have poison pumped into your living room?

To: Steely Tom
Exactly, Steely.
I only get basic "cheap bastard" cable, to facilitate cable internet. (it's more expensive to get JUST internet than it is to get basic cable and internet)
Anyway, I've wanted to upgrade the service to get FNC, but I can't bring myself to do it because I know that a portion of the monthly bill will go to MTV.

I can't understand all of the programming geared around the homosexual lifestyle. It is as if they are trying to sell this lifestyle to the rest of us. It is a lifestyle constantly pushed on all channels (except espn) today. It is in movies, on sitcoms, special stand up presentations, etc. It is all over the place.
Yet, the homosexual population is some extremely low number (2% guess, not accurate). It is clear that they want that number to grow!

It is pushed by ESPN too. Did you see the show Playmakers? Some of the episodes dealt with a homosexual player on the football team hiding his sexual preferences.
To: VA_Gentleman
I forgot about that! You got me! How about exclusion of FNC?

Hollywood, and in particular Viacom, owners of MTV, etc is run by the Lezbian-Gay Mafia.
Pushing down your throat is exactly what they want.
It has been the great crusade of the left, and its causes, to gain control of the people by brain washing them through the Mass Media

Outlet will likely become a part of MTV's the Suite lineup (consisting of MTV, VH1 and Nickelodeon). So if parents want to get nickelodeon for their children they'll have to buy it as part of a package containing a fairy porno channel?

Yet, the homosexual population is some extremely low number (2% guess, not accurate). It is clear that they want that number to grow! The homos are definately recruiting. Its the only way of self-preservation for them since they for the most part do not procreate offspring of their own to corrupt. Darwinian theories, so adamantly embraced by the left in everything else, tell us that which is not given to procreation and thus self preservation tends not to continue. Thus the homosexual lifestyle would die out in a few generations if they did not recruit for it among the unsuspecting normal people. It's disgusting and now, evidently, if a parent wants to get Nickelodeon for the kids he has to buy a package with the homo channel on it. Disgusting.

"...Pushing down your throat is exactly what they want..."
Pushing what down our throats? I do hope that it doesn't come to a literal meaning. This ca-ca has GOT TO STOP!!!!!
Back in the 80's, there were movements here about ending apartied (sp) in South Africa. How about ending the apartied here. As was mentioned in this thread, the homosexual population in this country is between (an estimate) 2 and 8%. Why does the remaining 92% have to be forced into accepting this aborant lifestyle? Stop it before it gets any worse.

While some of this may be "lifestyle indoctrination," a lot of what's going on here is being done for the purpose of targeted advertising. Homosexuals (men, in particular) make - and spend - a lot of money and, therefore, constitute a highly coveted target audience for advertisers. A "Gay Channel" will carry some of the highest ad rates found on cable. You can bank on it.
Yet another reason I don't watch television.

Like regular MTV was not enough for pushing the gay agenda?

Like schools and lawyers, Hollywierd has been overrun by the gay agenda. I look for this channel to last maybe a year or two on it's own. I can't see advertising alone keeping it alive. The gays will scream to DC that the Outlet (is that a veiled euphemism for an anus?) Channel should be subsidized like CSPAN.

Yeah and even if you try and get away from it they wont let you. Try looking at your favorites on Amazon DVD. Try and get the Gay & Lesbian selection removed. I don't care if people want to be gay but I don't want anything to do with it. I don't want to be around them, don't want to see it on TV especially when my nephew is in the same room.

Better yet if this thing ever gets on basic cable tell your friends to call up the local offices and demand they come out to your house and completely the block reception of this channel. If they don't tell them they just lost a costumer.

Wouldn't it be nice if you could opt out of MTV in cable subscriptions. Bet MTV would disappear real quick.

Wouldn't it be nice if you could opt out of MTV in cable subscriptions. YES!! I've been saying for years, I'd love it if someone somehow developed a cable service where we could pick channels à la carte and be charged based on the combination selected...just like a restaurant menu.
Of course, all I'd want is FOX News, History Channel and GAC.
And you're right...MTV would go belly-up within months!

Disney / ABC / Viacom produce Pro-Gay sitcoms, movies and channels at a financial loss. Their goal isn't profit, it's recruitment and to keep pounding theiir beliefs down the public's throat.
They use the money earned through their family-friendly programs and movies to finance the seedy stuff that no person in their right mind would support.
The only way to stop them from producing the gay stuff is by boycotting ALL their product lines, even the wholesome "family" products. All my children's aunts and uncles know not to send any toy / game / movie with the Disney / Viacom / Paramount label.
Follow the money.

I wish dish network would let you drop CNN or CNBC for FNC. That cheap package looks good except for the exclusion of Fox. Still thinking of leaving cable but a better selection in the basic packages would make it easier.

Homosexuals don't reproduce, they recruit. And what better way to recruit (your children) than to have a 24 hour a day audience on 3 or 4 networks targetted to youth where nothing negative related to the homosexual lifestyle is ever presented -- No AIDS, no STD's, no psychological issues, no public health issues ... just 24 hours a day of fathion conthious flowers and pinkness, and celebrations of fruitless sex. And propaganda about the necessity of "hate crime" laws, i.e., thought crime laws.
Fabulous!

Did you see the show Playmakers? Some of the episodes dealt with a homosexual player on the football team hiding his sexual preferences. Here is the reason. Someone thinks they are a good writer, producer, or director. But they actually suck. So what are 3 of the lowest common denomonators used? Sex, violence, and now, homosexuality. These spearhead programming due to the lack of creative ideas, thought, or morals.

I love watching the old programs on tvland. The quality shows like Jackie Gleason, etc. Extremely creative humor with morals. Actual thought accompanied with talent. I also watch speciality programming for my new gift to myself, my HDTV. I spend a little extra for digital cable to watch creative programming, visually stunning shows. No sex, no violence, just the wonders of our world.

It will not succeed, )unless they have programming featuring lipstick lesbians, if you know what I mean), because there's just not enough of them to make this a profitable venture.
