Do you think it is funny that this story "broke" the day after Harold Ford Jr. threatned the Republicans on Fox?

Let's see....FedEx pilot....Fred Smith (FedEx Founder) is a BIG Clinton supporter.... More important, Fred Smith was a Yale classmate and is a close friend of John Kerry. Small World!

Yesterday Ford, who is from Memphis, told the Republicans that if they pursued Kerry's anti-war stance or his voting record he would bring up the NG story. I think he was tipped that this story was about to break.

Who the heck cares? These guys cannot prove a negative, especially when Bush has released the dental records which show that he was there.

Just say .....for the sake of argument.... that someone in Tennessee wanted to get his son into the US Air Force academy in the late 1990's...would he need to get a politician's help to get his son get in?

I was not aware that bush returned to the NG in Texas, I thought he was Honorably Discharged directly from the AL unit. If you have a source that cites that I'd love to have it. Thanks
BTW Tanker I'm in Denver

Perhaps, they are blue dog democrats who have been paid by the Rats. I imagine if you are getting up in years and someone with money promises you $100,000 to make a false claim--you take it.

Okay, was it Bush in WWII or Bush during Viet Nam who got placed ahead of 500 other applicants?
The Memphian Flyer? Is that a weekly rag?

Even if Bush, who was trained on a slightly different aircraft than the F4 Phantom jets flown by the squadron, opted not to fly with the unit... Total Bravo Sierra. The F-102 that Bush was qualified on was a single seat, pure fighter jet. It's only mission was to shoot down enemy aircraft. It carried no bombs at all. Strictly a cannon and air-to-air missiles.
The F-4 Phantom was a two seat "fighter-bomber" that was primarily designed as a ground support aircraft (lots of bombs) although once certain tactics were developed the hard way in Vietnam, it did serve as a relatively capable fighter --- not the best, but passable.
The F-102 was designed in the early 50s and the F-4 followed about 8 years later --- a considerable difference when you factor the rapid air frame, engine and electronic technology advances of those days.

It can't be swept under the rug. It hasn't been swept under the rug, arete.
It has been dealt with over and over again.
You moved the goalpost back to having someone from Alabama back him up, and it has happened. He was there, and the records are there to prove it.
Give it up. You've lost.

We are going to see more people who voted for Bush the last time, but now they are not. So they claim.

Okay, was it Bush in WWII or Bush during Viet Nam who got placed ahead of 500 other applicants? I'm glad you asked that; I was puzzled by that because on his web site, Michael Moore accuses GWB of that very thing.

Why isn't this enough?
Because the media reports the AWOL stories and not the truth.

Bush in WWII was pushed ahead. You know, he was a son of a wealthy politician. He wanted to serve his country and possibly be shot down. And he took someone else's glory because he was a son of a wealthy politician. Sheesh.
I'm a little confused here. These poor guys were serving in the NG. Spoiled, rich kid was serving in the NG. Were special favors granted to them? Or are they upset because he asked for a three month transfer for a time period he was in Alabama? Couldn't they have done similar? I know I've read it's common to request such due to personal circumstances.

I believe, and Rush said this today, that this harping on the AWOL idea will backfire on the dems....
The Guard has already said that Bush was NOT required to attend drills, whether he did or did not attend drills, all this nonesense is PALE in comparison to ONE photo with JANE FONDA, and THAT photo says more than ten million whines from the dems about drills.
