I don't know how many Joss fans have checked out
Firefly. For me, that show really "works." If you haven't seen it, borrow the DVD's from someone and check it out.

Well, it's still on the Sci-Fi channel. And I'm still po'ed :)

I Love Angel....This is such a downer.

Hooray! The show jumped the shark two seasons ago. It's time to put it out of it's misery.

It is time for a Buffy/Angel Movie.
I remember when they canceled Star Trek. Give Buffy and Angel a few years on cable reruns. They are good show with good plots and good characters. You can't have that on TV.

(They will not get away with this. Developing . . . . .)

They did NOT ax, they don't want her to leave.
She left to give birth to her baby and start a family.

See above post.

She was bloated last year, but she looked fantastic when she came back for Episode 100. I also liked that they reprised ? for that episode via videotape.
I'm pretty sure she left because she wanted to.

I'm still angry about the cancellation of Firefly ... that was a good series.

Dark Shadows did all long before Buffy and Angel. And did it BETTER.

Speaking of "Dark Shadows", posters at AintItCoolNews.com are speculating that WB is cancelling "Angel" because they are reviving "Dark Shadows" (again, after NBC only had it on for 2 months in 1990), and TPTB didn't want 2 vampire shows on at the same time. If that's true, just another example of how the network suits are morons - put the shows on back-to-back like they had "BtVS" and "Angel", and call it "Vampire Night", or something.
As for Charisma Carpenter, bad blood had developed between her and Joss, and that's why she was written out of the show. Whether it stemmed from her pregnancy or not, he got sick of her. And with the sick storyline of her banging her "adopted son", Conner, last year, that really torqued Charisma off.
I think that the character Conner is what killed the show. Aside from the aforementioned incest, the actor they picked to play him was a complete loser fop who couldn't act his way out of a paper bag. Looked nothing like what you'd think Angel's son would look like. Completely stupid storyline. Now I hear that Joss is bringing the little dickweed back after getting rid of him last year. Dumb, dumb, dumb. NO fan of "Angel" wants to see this retard back, unless they somehow write into the storyline that the guy went through a physical transformation and another actor is selected. At least they didn't make him into a sodomite, like they did with Willow.

You seem to forget one thing. Dark Shadows is a slow as mud soap opera chick series. It has almost no action or real plot to it and will drive Buffy/Angel fans away from WB.
Dark Shadows is basically "All my Children" with only ONE vampire and ONE witch thrown in just so they could give a crumb of gothic taste to it.

And it started off so well when they had Darla sacrifice her own life so that Connor could be born - that was a strongly anti-abortion episode. But just like with Dawn [where the creative team had envisioned a much younger girl], Connor got magically transformed through the time portal to become a teenager, and then we get all of that teen-angst bullshit that the WB demands of its series.
Angel [the series] would have been so much better if we could have watched Connor progress from infant to toddler to pre-schooler, but I guess TPsTB at the WB vetoed all that boring, family-oriented drivel. Gotta have teen angst.

Dark Shadows is basically "All my Children" with only ONE vampire and ONE witch thrown in just so they could give a crumb of gothic taste to it. Not even close. Dark Shadows, in 5 years, had a wide range of stories involving:
- Vampires,
- Werewolves
- Parallel times
- Future times (a trip to 1994)
- A Frankenstien monster
- A Phoenix
- Tons of Ghosts
- Zombies
- A Dorian Gray type portrait
- A Shirley Jackson Lottery
- Satanic servants
- Seances where something cool ALWAYS happened.
- Cursed disembodied hands and heads
- Leviathans which might have been either aliens or ancient reptillian creatures.
The core group of about 8 or 9 actors wound up playing at least
5 or 6 different characters over a span of
four centuries! One actor played 11 roles in the space of 5 years. How many soaps cover that much ground in that short a time?

It will probably be picked up by upn. They might even give it the same time slot after enterprise. Nothing has survived there.
To: mosel-saar-ruwer
The few parts of "Angel" I saw on Kazaa looked bleak, sinister, badly acted, and Boreanaz looked like he'd been prepping for the show at the Bubank Krispy Kremes.

And with the sick storyline of her banging her "adopted son", Conner, last year, that really torqued Charisma off. First, he was not her "adopted son". Second, she was possessed by evil at the time anyway, so it's hardly like it was being presented as peachy-keen or something Cordelia might normally do.
I think that the character Conner is what killed the show. Aside from the aforementioned incest,
"Incest"? They were not related.
At least they didn't make him into a sodomite, like they did with Willow.
Um... Got issues?
