Don't you just love how the drooling baboons on this site read Explosives, Car, Canada and immediately assume the direction was FROM there TO here. Yeah, lets put up a wall and some mines! What a bunch of morons.

If I were an Al Qaeda big wig (I'd probably be dead like most of them but if I were alive) I'd rather take my sleeper cell from Seattle across the border to Vancouver. Reason being - If I blow something up in the USA George W is like to invade another of my sponsor nations, kill thousands more of my sympathisers and squeeze the last blood out of my organization. Canada on the other hand...I might skate while they discuss it with the UN and the French.

Why would anyone IMPORT explosives into BC?

I can see why the Canadians are taking this so seriously. Can you imagine what effect this grenade could have? Its capable of doing massive damage to their armed forces. Could probably take out at least half of it.

You would probably be safer in Seattle than BC under your assumptions. I think there is something else happening.

I wonder if this has any connections to the latest Islamodummy outed in the Army, who went to college in Washington and lived there?

Any of his buddies in the State of Washington might be sensing the vice grips starting to close up on them. So they decided to go a friendly country, Canada.

Maybe the release of his arrest in the local newspapers was part of a plan to see how many Islamodummies run for cover or Canada and where they go when they get there?

Oh wait, they call those "incindiary devices".

UPDATE UPDATE:

Lost driver shuts down border
Major U.S.-Canada border crossing closed after guards find explosive in car

The Canadian Press

Monday, February 16, 2004

SURREY, B.C. - A bizarre mix-up in directions set off an international incident at the Peace Arch border crossing south of Vancouver Monday afternoon.

RCMP say a woman from Houston, Texas tried to cross into Canada with a grenade in the glovebox of her vehicle.

RCMP spokesman Tim Shields says the border crossing was shut down for about one hour while a police explosives unit removed the grenade.

Traffic was routed a few kilometres east to Pacific Highway, which has a border crossing typically used by commercial trucks.

Shields says the 28-year-old woman was actually trying to get to Vancouver, Washington -- not Vancouver, B.C.

The woman's husband apparently works for the U.S. military and is stationed at Fort Lewis, Washington.

The woman has now been turned over to Immigration Canada.

Shields says she is apparently quite shaken by the incident, and it's likely she didn't know the grenade was in the vehicle.

He says charges are unlikely.

The Peace Arch border crossing is one of the biggest U.S.-Canada border crossings.

About eight million vehicles cross at Blaine, the northern end of Interstate 5, every year.

That took a wrong turn explanation may still not the whole story.

Vancouver WA is a fair distance from Ft. Lewis. If trying to get to Ft. Lewis I wouldn't use "follow the signs to Vancouver (WA or BC)" directions.
