I'm encouraged by the fact that he describes John Kerry as a good candidate, and Kerry/Edwards as a winning ticket ... if he really believes this, he's an absolute idiot!

>>George Soros has done it all--from surviving Nazi occupation of Budapest, Hungary, where he was born, to living under communism
It was my understanding that he WAS a Nazi, then turned Communist. This phrasing makes it sound like he was an innocent victim of both, not an active supporter.
Which is it?

The current "Bush Doctrine," as Soros called it, consists of two factors--undivided support for the military at home and the right to intervene abroad.
"[The Bush Doctrine] is not consistent with values of open society and cannot possibly be accepted by the rest of the world," Soros said.
Well, now we know what they stand for. Personally, I don't support this. Don't know an American that would.
We got 3,000 deaths based on his approach.

Correct. There is no such thing as "international law." The United States is bound by its Constitution, its internal laws, and those bilateral and multilateral treaty obligations it chooses to undertake.
Further, I'm getting a bit tired of the "Bush Doctrine" of preemption being described as unique in US history. The War of the Revolution, the wars of western expansion, the Mexican American War, The Spanish American War, the action against the Barbary pirates, Woodrow Wilson's little excursion into Mexico, World War I, the intervention in Panama to remove Manuel Noriega, the invasions of Grenada and Haiti, and the actions in Bosnia and Kosovo were all "preemptive," in that they all involved significant American military action against another country without a military act by that country against the United States or one of our treaty allies. It is the doctrine of nonpreemption, which grew out of the carnage of World War I, which is in fact the exception in American history.

He has a special opinion. But why exactly is that stupid? If we want to hit hard against these liberals, we should perhaps argue more precisely.

" . . . activist for the preservation of an American open society."
We already have an open society; what Soros wants is to end that, to destroy the Constitution by destroying American sovereignty and making the U.S. a slave to non-elected, non-accountable international organizations like the U.N. He is an international socialist, nothing less.

I shared a moment in time with Georgie Gazillionaire Soros at Duke . Overwhelming crowd. Shook his hand and introduced myself. Old men do not want to religuish power and apparently that this is e with Soros and Murdock, and Kofi Annan. Anyway he said and I will quote "postmodernism has gone to far". I agreed but thought that he was a postmodern philosopher himself.
Fox News according to Soros is an "Orwellian Truth Machine". He peppered everything with the hyperbolic rhetoric of the Left ala Moveon.org. This guy is a multinational traveler. He really is European and uses his US citizenship as cover.
He did say that Algore was turning out to be a great ambassador for the cause. He did not woo audience and in fact his presentatation lasted about 10 minutes and with q and a later.
When I heard him say this about Gore, I made a noticeable groaning sound which was partially audible.

No international law? But there are international treaties the US signed. Why can't that be called international law?

Soros made explicit that he is using both his expertise in international affairs and his money to try to prevent President Bush's re-election. Soros has already donated $12.5 million to the Democratic effort, a figure that he says is likely to rise. I can't help but connect this with the extraordinary levels of brazen media bias we're seeing already, and it's only February. How much has Soros really spent already and who got it?
To: Helms
"Edwards would bring a considerable value to the ticket," Soros said. "[Kerry] needs a running mate who has appeal to the South." I am the from the South, and Edwards doesn't appeal to me. He doesn't even appeal to the people that originally elected him in North Carolina. Trial lawyers with pretty hair are not popular in the South.
Also, Soros is an enemy of US sovereignty. He is treading on dangerous ground.

we should perhaps argue more precisely
Arguing with most is a waste of time. It assumes those on the other side would be swayed by facts and/or reason. Obviously, that isn't the case. Their policies have been proven to be bankrupt, in many cases for close to 100 years.
I'm tired of trying. Now I'm just calling it as I see it.

SNAPSHOT OF SOROS:
Soros has already given $15 million dollars to defeat Bush. The millions George Soros is spending apparently come from his so-called foundations but none of Soros' foundations are US-based. While George Soros is a United States citizen (residing in suburban New York), Soros must comply with FEC campaign spending limitsfwhich are limited to $2000 a person........unless the donor is a corporate sponsor. However, George Soros doesfnot own any American corporations.
We know that Soros is in league with Peter Lewis--a pro-drug liberal-- and John Sperling. Soros can usually persuade Warren Buffet to go along with him. Peter Lewis is the chairman of the Progressive Insurance company (auto).
Then there is Soros' good-buddies, Mort Halpern, former Clintonoid John D. Podesta, Jeremy Rosner, Robert Boorstin and Carl Pope who have all hung out at his Long Island residence for private little "think tanks".
Soros supports Steve Rosenthal and Ellen Malcolm, his puppets who are running the anti-Bush group---ACT (America Coming Together)-----and to whom he pledged $10 million. His friends also pledged money to ACT: Robert Glaser, of RealNetworks, $2 million; Robert McKay, on behalf of the McKay Family Foundation, $1 million; and Lewis and Dorothy B. Cullman gave $500,000.
No one has any doubts about his connections to Russian oil magnate and corrupt oligarch Khodorkovsky.
Some may know of Soros' joint venture involvement in mustcom. He is aligned with Vladimir Potanin of Uneximbank; Boris Jordan of Renaissance Capital; Nicholas Jordan, Boris' brother of Deustche Bank's Russian Division of Deutsche Morgan Grenfell, and the Morgan Stanley Investment Group.
Soros is chairman of the Open Society Institute (OSI) and the founder of a network of so-called philanthropic organizations that are active in more than 50 countries and which give Soros cover to launch his currency scams and government coups). Soros is based primarily in Central and Eastern Europe and the former Soviet Union but also in Africa, Latin America, and Asia.
Soros foundations are autonomous institutions established in particular countries or regions to supposedly initiate and support Soros' Open Society activities. The priorities and specific activities of each Soros foundation are determined by a local board of directors and staff in consultation with George Soros and OSI boards and advisors. In addition to support from the Open Society Institute, many of the foundations receive funding from other sources.
Soros foundations consist of national foundations in 29 countries, foundations in Kosovo and Montenegro, and two regional foundations, the Open Society Initiative for Southern Africa (OSISA) and the Open Society Initiative for West Africa (OSIWA). OSISA and OSIWA, which are governed by their own boards of directors and staffs from the region, make grants in a total of 27 African countries.
Below are all of the Soros foundations, arranged alphabetically by country or area.
