No I wouldn't. Reagan granted an actual amnesty. Even Tancredo's plan offers guest-worker status like Bush's.

Every year around this time the attempted crossings into our country begins to rise. The end of Feb and beginning of March alway show a spike in attempts. Common sense points to the Spring Season. Lots of farmers will be hiring cheap laborors around this time. Yes, they may say it is for the amnesty, but I believe amnesty or no amnesty, they would have still attempted to cross the border. Even without amnesty the illegals were being taken care of by our tax dollars.

You don't have to be in a border state to see the major influx of Latino's. Here in SE Tennessee and neighboring North Georgia it is very apparent.

Exactly. As if the doors weren't open before Dubya said anything. Let's go back to thinking that doing nothing will help. Let's also look at how Massachusetts has handled the immigration issue...ever been to Lawrence? No Democrat or Republican is going to use SWAT teams to round up illegals. Sorry, ain't gonna happen. Let's not lose the war because we don't like a particular stategery on the battlefied. Let's not be "principled" Republican and help elect Kerry who will truly open the doors.
