Thrilling tales of Americas fighting men and women in action using stuff Senator Kerry didn't want them to have!
We are continuing a defense buildup that is consuming our resources with weapons systems that we dont need and cant use.
~ John Kerry, campaigning for the US Senate in 1984.

We didn't need anymore weapons. We learned our lesson in Vienam. The montra of the 70's Kerry.
He doesn't support our military. That'll be seen. He's only the front runner now. It gets worse when he's the only runner next to President Bush.

Look what Hugh Hewitt wrote..
If you want to understand why Kerry is fearful of letting his Senate record become a centerpiece of the campaign ahead, study the Kerry for Senate 1984 document that the Freepers have already turned up. And that's just one document from one year out of the 19 years that Kerry spent compiling a lifetime "Americans for Democratic Action" voting scorecard to the left of Teddy Kennedy's.

The F-15? Who the heck wanted to drop the F-15? I mean, there were people who thought the F-16 was a bad idea because it was too light and only had one engine, but who the heck thought we didn't need a new interceptor? This guy's not just a lib, he's dumber than most!

1) THE APACHE HELICOPTER March 2003: The 101st Airborne launch a night attack against Iraqi forces using a useless, unnecessary helicopter John Kerry wanted to cancel. The main point here indeed is the Apache's outstanding record in both Gulf Wars, and that's the point we should make when we bring this to the average voter's attention. But also consider this: When there were thousands and thousands of Soviet tanks on the border of West Germany and the Army needed a new tank-killer, John Kerry didn't think we needed one. He also didn't think we needed a heavy tank that could deal with the T-72 and T-80.
This man is not Ted Kennedy the Younger, he's Jimmy Carter the Younger. "Gee, why would the Soviets act like bad guys...Duuuuuhhhhhhh!"

Here's my take on whether the guy is dumb or not: Perhaps he was a plant, sent to attempt the scuttling of crucial weapons. A compromised man, perhaps?
His actions and positions go somewhat beyond short-sightedness.

Here's an analogy, in a conversation between such people and the soldiers:
Soldier: "Senator, it seems that the enemy is aiming directly at my head! It takes a lot to stay safe under these conditions."
Senator: "Well, that's wonderful, and I really think you need to be careful. By the way, take your helmet off, I don't think you need that old thing."

Does it matter? In Kerry's case, of course, it would be democrat. As was our previous President, another federal "servant" who hamstrung us in our fight against terrorists and dictators.

Since I said it was an analogy, and then presented in quotes by me, take it as a piece of commentary literature on my part. It was not intended to be an acutal transcribed conversation, rather a description of the situation as historical fiction.

So, are are you "Moby", a member of the DNC, a DU troll, someone that wants to see a stronger candidate than Kerry presented by the Dems?

Excuse me? Been posting here a while, don't remember being called a troll before. (I hope it is some level of sarcasm from you on a level I'm not comprehending.) Yes, I made it up, that's why I called it an ANALOGY, perhaps I should have called it a FABLE. A fictional story with a moral and/or ethical point.
I've been off the board for just a couple of days - have the Moby attacks been very prevalent. I remember on Friday that the ZOTs and post deletions were picking up, so i wouldn't be surprised that my fellow FReepers may be a bit irritated. But please don't take it out on me, OK?
What I am saying is that we seem to have a number politicians both past and present who have taken positions and pursued actions that are completely counter to our national security.

The WHOLE INTENT of my little story was to agree with you. I don't doubt that. In the grand scheme, there's likely much more that we would agree on than disagree.
The thing is, my real context was lost when my "Comment #29" was "Removed by Moderator".
I guess it happended to amount to some sort of perceived "thought crime" as it broke no known posting "rules" of which I'm aware.
All the "Moby", DNC and DU paranoia BS aside (not by me 'or you' in particular, just by the tone being set here, lately, in general), perhaps I was being too blunt.
Nothing personal, to you, intended.

Here's my take on whether the guy is dumb or not: Perhaps he was a plant, sent to attempt the scuttling of crucial weapons. A compromised man, perhaps? Nah, if that was true he would have supported the DIVAD/Sgt. York gun system to the hilt. Just joking...
Nope, he's not the Manchurian Cadidate. I'm afraid he's just one more example of how blind people can be even when they're intelligent. I wholeheartedly believe that Communism and Socialism are lies straight from the pit of Hell, and being a major spokesman for them requires one to be spiritually blind at best, and a willing servant of Hell (as Richard Wurmbrand proved about Karl Marx in one of his books) at worst.
If we give Kerry the benefit of the doubt, we still get a guy who came back from Vietnam hating America, and hating a nation (as in it's character and people) is evil. If that nation is one like ours that sends her sons to die for the freedom of others, even hating its government is out of bounds. The boy's got issues, and they haven't changed in over 30 years.
