ATLANTA -- Senator John F. Kerry yesterday fended off an unusually direct attack from President Bush's campaign chairman -- who criticized the "remarkably negative tone" of Kerry's White House bid -- while energizing about 1,000 Georgia voters with 90 minutes of almost uninterrupted denunciations of Bush over jobs, taxes, and the Iraq war.

Ex-guardsmen say jab at Bush tars them***"I wanted to spit glass," Eckhardt said last week in an interview from his office in Miami, where he is a corporate executive recruiter. "It makes me feel my service was less than honorable and that I was just a draft dodger. I really got upset because I felt, for political purposes, a lot of people who joined the National Guard and fulfilled their duties were being portrayed as a bunch of privileged folks who got in to avoid service."
Enough Guard veterans share Eckhardt's views that Senator John F. Kerry of Massachusetts, the front-runner for the Democratic presidential nomination, quietly sent a message earlier this month to the National Guard Association of the United States, recognizing the service of guardsmen. "There are many members of the National Guard who served as I did in Vietnam, and I honor their service," Kerry said in a statement sent to the association after the group told campaign aides of its members' anger. "Many of them died and their names are on the Vietnam memorial alongside some of those in my Swift Boat."
Guardsmen have made numerous phone calls and sent multiple e-mails to their association expressing concern that Democrats' criticism of Bush's service unfairly gives the impression that others who served in the National Guard did not do their part. Interviews with Guard veterans indicate a strong degree of concern that the criticism of Bush's service represents criticism of the Guard itself. ***

John Kerry can campaign in Georgia but he doesn't have a prayer in Dixie. Hint: Zell Miller's endorsing the guy Kerry has harsh words for.

Good old Representative John Lewis, the guy who said on the House floor that there where so many dead slaves tossed overboard on trips from Africa to the US from 1600 to the 1850s, that sharks today still swim those routes looking for something to eat!
Gad! John eFing is in good company...

The people Kerry appeals to are subversives - the various "justice" factions, ie feminism, racism, environmentalism, etc - the anti-American groups who promote class/race/age/religious/sex warfare.

standing-room-only crowd of 800 Dubya generated over 2,000 (couldn't pack another person in the factory) when he came to Memphis during the last campaign. Cheney generated over 1,000 when he came (smaller location school)

Primary Numbers: Lukewarm for Kerry***After John Kerry's Tuesday win in Wisconsin, it's fairly safe to say he's the Democrats' presumptive presidential nominee. But is it also safe to say, as a number of polls suggest, that Democrats, believing he is their party's best chance to beat George Bush, have been turning out for Mr. Kerry with zeal?
Not exactly. In fact, the numbers suggest that though the junior senator of Massachusetts pretty much has run the primary table, his reception -- based on total number of votes -- is relatively lukewarm. ***

Once again Kerry gives a speech void of any positive, forward looking message. It might work in front of rabid broken glass Democrats but if he takes this type of speech to the rest of the voters during the campaign he's going down in flames. Let's hope he's so full of himself he doesn't change.

John Kerry can campaign in Georgia but he doesn't have a prayer in Dixie Here in Georgia, I heard about him, but saw him on the George Stephanopolis show before going to church. He was lambasting the President on a Sunday Morning. He should have had more sense and gone to church himself, but we all know he's not from around here.
Besides, we are tired of political war veterans who say they are strong on defense, but spit on their buddies.
We here in Georgia know there's a war going on. The dems better figure this out soon or be out of Dixie.
