NEWSROOM SOURCES: NYT TO SLAM GIBSON'S 'PASSION' IN REVIEW TOMORROW: 'Gibson has constructed an unnerving and painful spectacle that is also, in the end, a depressing one... It is disheartening to see a film made with evident and abundant religious conviction that is at the same time so utterly lacking in grace.... What makes the movie so grim and ugly is Gibson's inability to think beyond the conventional logic of movie narrative'...

If the NYT slams it, then it has to be great, they aren't right on anything....

I guess it is a form of emphasis.

Glad to hear it! I want this movie to be a powerful affirmation of Christianity.

IMHO, six it a little young for the brutality Christ endured. At six it should all be about "Christ is Love" and Peace and flowers and stuff. It's just my opinion and that and a buck sixty-five will get you a grande-drip at Starbucks. Peace Out.

By His stripes we are healed.

Who said that? I'm not kidding, I don't know, though it's a familiar phrase. Don't think it's biblical, however.

Isa 53:5 But he [was] wounded for our transgressions, [he was] bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace [was] upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.

I haven't seen "The Passion" yet, so this may change.....so far, the movie that holds the record for having the most influence over my life is "Cool As Ice" starring the legendary white rapper Vanilla Ice.

My favorite Mel Gibson movie is "Tim" with Piper Laurie.

Personally, I love Mel in the Mad Max movies. I don't take 'em too seriesly, though...

My boys love Chicken Run too...for obvious reasons...(see my profile.)
