Bush saw Putin's soul

President Bush said that he saw into Putins soul. I wonder if he saw in Putins soul that he would use the Russian Military to try intimidate the United States with his rocket tests (The irony is that half the tests failed). Also, I wonder if he saw in Putins soul the desire to dismantle the fledging democracy.
I think that Putin is just doing everything in can to keep his peoples mind off the fact that he is losing the war on terrorism, while President Bush is kicking the living daylights out of it.

Maybe you could speculate about something that happened, oh, less than a couple of years ago?
Putin just announced that Russia had a supersonic missile, and tested it LAST week in the North Pacific. He also said that it would bypass any missile defense system in development.
Putin fired Russia's Prime Minister Mikhail Kasyanov and his cabinet on TUESDAY hardly old news. Prime Minister Kasyanov was the second most powerful man in Russia and a strong U.S. supporter.
The fear is he will start replacing people with former associates from the KGB, and setup a confrontation with the west using the excuse of Western encroachment. Currently the EU is aggressively pulling in new members from the Eastern Block. Russia has a lot to lose, and wont let it happen without doing nothing.
What's matter are you lonely? Do you need attention? How's about a rattle?

All Putin is doing is trying to appear strong as he tries to get 51% of Russians to come out and vote, if he doesn't it will be a major embarassment because Russian Election Law requires 51% of the voters to come out and vote. So after the failed missile test, he decided to lay off his entire cabinet as if there is some kind of power struggle going on and fire up the people to come out and vote.
Putin is very popular and many Russians are not interested in voting because they know he will win. And after he wins re-election, he will hire his Cabinet back

(There's no leaders on the path of least resistance, ask John Kerry, he's been paving it for 32 yrs.)
The "soul" remark was eons ago, yet it's your title and main theme. It's repeated three times in the first paragraph. You wrote it; if that is not what you wished to emphasize, why did you over-emphasize it so?
I fell that President Bush went out of his way, and put his credibility on the line to make Putin and Russia friends of ours. He told the American people that he saw Putins soul, and we should trust Putin. Then last week Putin betrayed Bushs trust.
Im sorry if you dont agree with the connection. But I hoped that the soul brothers would be able to last more then two years.
To keep repeating this is a touch vain.
