Besides with Rice as VP he would win hands-down I prefer that VP Cheney remains where he is. But if W is required to name a replacement, I nominate J C Watts.

Cheney's smug know-it-all arrogance is getting old IMHO.What is getting old is the media and the Democrats continually connecting Cheney with ANYTHING Halliburton has done in the last 4 years. Cheney has not been involved with the company during that time, and they all know it, they're just trying to make trouble by continuing their lies and trying to confuse those who may NOT realize that fact.
BTW, you're confusing confidence with arrogance.

I think Guiliani is a good Veep choice against a Kerry/? ticket because Guiliani appeals to swing voters MUCH more than Cheney. Cheney is perceived by many as sneaky and inaccessable. And besides, even though Guiliani is not as conservative as we'd like, how much damage could he do as a Veep? The logic would hold up about as well if you'd substitute the name "Hillary" for "Giuliani".
It's hard to believe that President Bush will get his base all fired up to campaign for him if he picks a New York gun-grabbing, pro-abortion guy as his apparent successor.

Even though I am a Guliani fan - I don't believe Bush would give up Cheney.Go wash your mouth out with soap : ) ...Giuliani is pro-abortion and a gun control advocate!
He has to be deaf on homosexuality because of his daughter. He should not be on the bully pulpit with this issue out of respect for her. He is playing it smart. This is a personal matter for him and his daughter and should not be put on the stage for all to see.
You are correct.

I would love to see Cheney shred Hillary! in a VP debate.

I can't wash my mouth out with soap. I really like Guiliani when he was mayor of NYC. Now do I think he should replace Cheney? NO WAY! I think he would be a great Senator and/or Governor. I really really want him to run against Hillary. You gotta realize she ran against an unknown babyfaced child (Lazio). If she runs against Guiliani she runs against an experienced, smart man who will smash her all the way back to Arkansas.

Yeah, haven't we learned the lessons of President Humphrey, President Mondale, and President Gore? Being VP is an automatic ticket to the White House.
Replacing Cheney would be seen as a sign of panic. Let's worry about 2004 before we obsess on 2008. The Republicans will nominate someone in 2008 who will have a good chance of holding all the red states against billy jeff's wife.

I'll put you down as "not a fan of Cheney." Put me down too. It ain't Haliburton that will hurt the ticket, it's the duck hunting trip with Scalia. Poor judgement. Time for him to leave. Besides, W needs to put someone else in as VP so they can be groomed for '08. Cheney sure is not going to run for prez in '08. There are a number of GOP governors and senators who could fill the bill, along with Rudy or Condi.

"This rumor is getting legs because of Cheny's health. "
If there's rumors about Cheney's health, again, it's wishful thinking by the media and the RATS. I saw Cheney and his wife on Fox News this past week, in a video of them buying some stuff at a store. He looked damn good to me, and he's been on the campaign trail raising money. Now somebody whose health isn't good, isn't going to be traveling to raise money.

"...Frist? Who has managed to accomplish absolutey ZERO in his time as Majority Leader?..." Can't say that I disagree with you. I am oriented more towards a 'fighter' like Newt or DeLay who is perfectly happy to get 'in-yo-face' with the Dims.
I was merely suggesting a way this could happen WITHOUT losing Cheney who is a valuable resource and trusted friend of Bush.

What you see as
smug know-it-all arrogance is calm confidence. Dick Cheney is intelligent and tough.
Besides with Rice as VP he would win hands-down. What's your reasoning behind this?
Greedy SOB Dims like you are putting out this rumor to create yet another division in their opposition. They can't win if Republicans are united against them.

I nominate Ann Coulter to replace the old-man Cheney as VP candidate. (I just want to see if the AC fan club will post her photos here).
To: areafiftyone
Unlike DemocRATS, Republicans don't replace candidates to win an election.
