I felt that way too at first. Then I thought, our culture needs to meditate on Christ's suffering. We tend to jump to Easter and skip over Good Friday. There are a lot more people in church on Easter than on Good Friday. Although He is risen, His mystical Body still suffers.

Well, the Jewish personalities who raised the issue did so because they are familiar with the historic use of Passion Plays in Europe to create pogroms. The fact is that the story in the Gospels reflects very badly on the Jews of that time, and as a Jewish person you are either in the position of apologizing for the behavior of your forebears a couple of thousand years ago, or you are in a position of arguing whether or not someone else's holy books are historically accurate. Neither one is an enviable position, especially 5 seconds before a church league basketball game.

Christians don't "blame" the Jews for killing Christ anymore than we blame Southerners for killing Lincoln or Texans for killing Kennedy, or Romans for killing Ceasar.

But I am getting very perturbed over the Jews today who are trying to interfere with my right to practice my religion today, including being able to see a movie about the death of Christ.

I suspect that many of the Jewish organizations that are complaining so loudly are professional fund-raising organizations which are trying to motivate their Jewish base into making contributions to their organizations.

Jews are a little thin-skinned about these things, I'll admit. But I think the causes of that sensitivity has more to do with some of the items on this list than it does with fund-raising issues.

Go see the movie first, and then complain if it makes you hate Jews.

nobody prohibiting anything. the movie's made, its in the theater. all I'm saying is that what the Jews are feeling is actual fear, and not for no reason. It was just 70 years ago next month that Hitler was at the Oberammergau passion and approving of the way it showed how evil the Jews were. I'm not going to see that movie. I know how it ends.

Well had that little girl the ability to apply logic to the situation, she would realize that everything happened as planned. God knew the jewish leaders would deny His son. They actually helped out the whole world in a way. They played a part in our salvation.

Very funny, but you know nothing about the movie. The conflict is not between Christians and Jews--never. The struggle is internal between Jesus and the old law which requires him to die. The suffering is so severe that Jesus is literally sweating blood (yes it's medically possible)while in prayer with his father, before any bad guys appear in the movie.

All of the torture is inflicted by Romans in the movie, not Jews. Almost all of the Jewish characters are Christ's followers.

Before you start comparing Christians to Hitler you should, at the very least, go see the movie.

And I don't believe your story about the little girl.
