So, to summarize this important info very briefly:

During Clinton's Great Economy of 1996:
Unemployment was at 5.6%
Average wage was $11.82/hr.
Inflation was 3.3%

During George W. Bush's "miserable failure" economy of 2004:
Unemployment is at 5.6%
Average wage is $15.40/hr.
Inflation is 1.9%

What's wrong with this picture?

Another thing these lying idiots don't realize is that unemployment is neccessary in a capitalistic system. Maybe they know it but ignore it.

What makes me so angry is how this was basically being pushed under our noses.

Sure.

Inflation data comes from the BLS' CPI Index page:
ftp://ftp.bls.gov/pub/news.release/History/cpi.01152004.news
You'll find a table about halfway down. CPI went up 3.3% in 1996, only 1.9% in 2003. (It's about the same today.)

The current average wage of $15.40 or so can be found here:
http://www.bls.gov/news.release/empsit.t17.htm

The 1996 average wage of $11.82 was cited in that CNN article:
http://www.cnn.com/US/9607/05/jobless/

The unemployment level having been at "already-low 5.6%" in 1996 was also from that CNN website:
http://www.cnn.com/US/9607/05/jobless/

Today's January 2004 unemployment rate is also 5.6%, as shown on the Bureau of Labor Statistic's home page:
http://www.bls.gov/cps/home.htm

Please give this to everyone who can publicize it. The mainstream media won't do it. We have to scour through archives and multiple databases, but leave it to FRee-thinking people on the samizdat internet to out the truth.
