I saw it last night. It's interesting how the secularists decry the violence and bloodshed. What I recall most from the film is the flashbacks during Jesus abuse by the Romans: his teaching on the Mount, to the stoners of Mary Magdalene, to his disciples at the last supper, and the Resurrection. They were exquisitely filmed. These scenes and Christs teachings, which most are familiar with from scripture, were intimate, profound and moving. They IMHO, heal the raw visual effects of Christs suffering, and are what may inspire the doubters, not his suffering.

BUT Kill Bill and the Texas Chainsaw Massacre were "just fine" and "don't go see it if you don't like it" and "its
free speech" and on and on.

WHY are some people freaking out over this movie BUT were so silent when Kill Bill was released???? They pan The Passion and praised Kill Bill. I think they are mental.

I agree. Many critics say that this is hard to follow because his sacrifice is "given no context." They don't understand how the flashbacks scenes relate to the story, if they even mention them at all.

To the critics who "don't get" Gibson's movie and feel it should somehow be explained to them, I'll tell them what they've been telling everyone else for decades: They need to get out more, open their minds, and understand that there is more than just their own narrow viewpoint.
