A major no-show at tonight's Academy Awards in Hollywood will be Mel Gibson.

The Executive Producer of the program, Joe Roth asked the filmmaker of PASSION OF THE CHRIST to present an award, knowing it would create unforgettable sparks.

The LA TIMES reports that Gibson let the offer expire because, Roth says, he was afraid of being booed.

His representatives said Gibson was too busy to attend because it was the movie's opening weekend.

I can understand why Gibson wouldn't want to be booed and why he's not going, but as a conservative who dislikes Hollywood, it would've been good for our cause to see them screw up by booing Gibson because it would've made people more aware of what Hollywood is all about.

Sure, what he's after is more villification. He should be thrilled to go. I haven't been a supporter of Hollywood in years, but I find them so offensive in the here and now that I will buy tickets for the movie that I'll keep as memorabilia just to help Mel's film company, and send the message to these villifiers that their dog won't hunt, can't hunt, and has never hunted.

They've always been a disgrace, but now they've really ticked me off. And I hope Mel has the opportunity to tell Katzenberg and his black-listing mafia 'do me a favor, and don't do me any favors.'

If Mel really thought the classless of Hollywood would make themselves more so by "booing" him, he'd be there will wings on.

That spectacle would be the finish of Hollywood and even those clueless immoral twits are smart enough to know it. If anything, there would be a standing ovation for Mel lasting a full three minutes. Like a child and a hot stove, the Hollywood elite know it's too hot to touch.
