Says homosexuals purporting to be 'married' committing frauds

A district attorney running for Pennsylvania attorney general is vowing to arrest anyone associated with same-sex weddings.
"There should be no Rosie O'Donnell weddings in Pennsylvania, and there won't be if I'm the attorney general," Montgomery County District Attorney Bruce Castor Jr. told the Philadelphia Inquirer.
Even though same-sex marriages are currently illegal in the Keystone State and there haven't been any homosexual couples forthcoming to seek a marriage license, Castor issued a letter to the local reigster of wills in Norristown, Pa., making his position clear.
"Should you, as clerk of the Orphan's Court, permit to be issued a marriage license to a gay or lesbian couple, you and your office would potentially face criminal liability," Castor wrote.
He also stated homosexual couples "holding themselves out to be married ... are possibly committing frauds actionable by criminal prosecution," the paper reported.
Castor noted those issuing or seeking same-sex marriage certificates could face a misdemeanor charge of obstructing administration of law or other governmental function.
The director of legal affairs for the American Civil Liberties Union says he's disturbed the issue of same-sex marriages is moving into the criminal arena.
"The real question is why he needs to throw out a threat of criminal prosecution," Larry Frankel told the Inquirer. "Let's have a civil debate about whether we should have gay marriages, rather than involving the heavy hand of the criminal-justice system."
Meanwhile in Chicago, the clerk of Cook County says despite his personal support for same-sex marriage, he won't be issuing licenses to homosexual couples.
David Orr issued a written statement explaining state law prohibits them from tying the knot.
"After careful discussion with same-sex marriage advocates and like-minded elected officials, we have agreed that without widespread political and legal support, we need to explore alternative ways to secure these rights," Orr said.
Orr's statement drew swift reaction from homosexual activists including Keeanga Taylor of Chicago's Equal Marriage Now.
She told the Associated Press elected officials who say they support same-sex marriage but are not taking steps to make it legal are "on the side of homophobes and bigots."
As WorldNetDaily reported, New York's attorney general issued a judgment today declaring the licenses illegal.
Attorney General Eliot Spitzer said in a statement it's up to the courts to decide whether the state law barring same-sex marriage is constitutional.
"I personally would like to see the law changed, but must respect the law as it now stands," Spitzer said, according to the Associated Press.

SCOTUS striking down that ticked me off, but not near as much as these Coast-to-Coast Vigilantes that are acting as Judge, Jury and Perversion Enablers handing out same sex marriage licenses as if God took the year off and put them in charge or something.
I'll await this hypocrite's impassioned pleas to return Judge Moore to the bench. After all, lets not have a heavy hand on this matter that we all can disagree on.
Not.
