But as long as you want to talk energy, when is Spencer Abraham gonna get off his fat duff, grow a spine and really make her squawk by committing to increasing our nuclear power generation to 40% of our requirements within the next 10 years? Heck, last article I read about him, the bozo wanted to import liquid natural gas for the next 20 years before utilizing other alternatives. How are we supposed to pay for 20 years of natural gas when we're already smothered with outlandish Trade and Budget Deficits? Hmmmmmph... that's some "plan" that Dubya has First about nuclear enrgy. I agree with you, but you gotta change the envirowhacko thinking in the press. BTW, I beleive that Abraham has said that new nuclear power plants should be considered. Here is a quote from the Miami hearld article that you "excerpted" for a thread on FR.
Despite the current interest in LNG, Abraham predicted other fuels will strengthen the country's energy independence because they can be produced in the United States.
He touted hydrogen, clean coal and nuclear fuel produced by a new generation of meltdown-proof reactors. Another energy source is fusion, he said, although that probably won't be viable for at least 50 years. He did not mention renewable energy, such as wind and solar power.

Which helps my business. Which means I purchase FR in a few years. Which means I get to be a petty, cruel tyrant someday, and fulfil one of my life dreams. HA! HA! HA! HA!
When you own FR, will you ban people I don't like?

"Hey!! You forgot to kowtow to the great Dubya! Off with your head! His holiness is displeased!" It is amazing how both of you are so blind to modern day American politics.
Go ahead and make fun and lord over people who think that demos are worse than republicans. Oh that's correct you are the all knowing omnipotent ones and how dare someone question your self implied superiorty.
Well you all can live in your insular world while others try to defeat demos at the ballot box.

You get upset when I ask you that question? I can't believe a true-conservative couldn't answer such a simple question
"None of your freakin' business" qualifies as an answer. It may not have been the answer you wanted or expected to hear, but it is, by definition, an answer.

During Clinton's re-election in 1996, he ran on an amazing record of employment.
Guess what the unemployment rate was in 1996?
...
Too late!
...
5.6%
The shameless Leftists have conned you, but not me, and not the rest of the voting Republican base.
Call the shameless Leftist whores on it at every opportunity.
NEVER NEGOTIATE WITH EVIL. KILL IT.

Willie Green's FR excerpted thread from the Miami Herald articleYep, that's the article I posted.
Why didn't you quote this part:
Abraham said the government's strategy "is to go for the imported gas over the next 20 years. After 20 years, we believe there will be new ways to generate electricity."
TWENTY YEARS????
Good grief.
We haven't built any nuclear plants in OVER twenty years.
And during that time, we've invested MULTI-BILLIONS in nuclear R&D that's ready for implementation NOW.
But Spence doesn't want to use it for ANOTHER 20 years???
Instead, we're suppose to IMPORT natural gas???
Cripes almighty. What about the clean coal technology Dubya promised us during the last election?
We have plenty of coal. Why can't we use THAT instead of importing natural gas for TWENTY YEARS?
To: Stallone
What about this point?
When unemployment was slightly lower, reaching the mythical theoretical absolute lowest unemployment level (4%), the price was too high.
We got a bubble economy, high interest rates to brake the runaway train, and then...*KAPOW*, the economy collapsed before being handed to President Bush.
5.6% may be the PERFECT balance of low unemployment, low inflation, low interest rate, and steady, sustainable growth.
SELL IT, FOLKS!

With a boost from President Bush, central Appalachia's mountaintop coal miners are finally embracing the future again, flagging more of this state's ancient summits for blasting and more of its hollows for burying than in many years.

That 5.6% is 110% snake oil. It's a number that is meaningless except for use as marketing logo. A number like the old secret ingredients in toothpastes "Now with XL7!". Well, the rate is "Now at 5.6%!" Same way, meaningless except to provoke screeches in the cheerleading mob.
As a measurement there's no stat in in, no reliability, no consistency, no there there. By "snake oil", I mean it is a perfectly arbtrary choice of a number. Been that way a while. Not really new. But its gotten worse.
The US Department of Labor household survery is better. And that shows 392,000 mysteries. A net loss, really. And the jobs that are had? What do the state income tax revenue streams show?
Honest numbers there, and what are they?
As old Sherlock Holmes said "The dogs that didn't bark are the best clue".

Ironic the Russians now have a 13% flat tax for individuals, 24% for business and a constitutional right to posess arms...
BTW--I was in your neck of the woods on Wednsday sampling areas around bridges at Deer Creek and a couple of other points south on HWY 65. Stayed at that Best Western over near the Wal Mart distribution center :) Field Good...Office Bad... Field Good...Office Bad... Field Good...Office Bad... Field Good...Office Bad...
