Don't throw me in that briar patch, Br'er Kerry.

One can only hope that this reaction was expected by Rove and his folks. Knowing what I know of Karl, probably.

President Bush doesn't need a permission slip from the Democrats before he runs his campaign ads.

These people are amazing, aren't they? First, they want to tell Mel Gibson how to make a movie. Next, they try to tell George Bush what kind of commercials he can or can't run. Pathetic!

Rush said the "reaction" was planted. Seems amazingly coordinated if it wasn't.

I believe those widows were waiting in the wings, well rehearsed, for the first sign of President Bush refering to 9/11 in his campaign.

Okay, now we've got nine more months of campaigning to go. The public is going to get way tired of hearing the whining about the president referring to 9/11 real soon.

The 'rats jumped the gun with their outrage.

The 'Offended' 911 Group “Peaceful Tomorrows” is funded largely by Teresa Heinz

Oh, really? It would be nice if the members of the media would do their jobs and report on this little coincidinky, wouldn't it.

GW is getting his ad run in all markets for free courtsey of cnn, abc, nbc, msnbc, FNC........got a lot more for his ad dollar. The RATS should have kept their big flaps shut, then it would be in only a few states.

A little noise right now but the public will remember the message all the way to election day. I don't think we need to be scared of it.

In a bombshell controversy that has the media reeling in shock, Democrats -- especially those who have endorsed Sen. John Francois Kerry -- do not approve of President Bush's first campaign commercials

And who can blame them. As I see it there is only one solution to this crisis, and that's for Carl Rove to get democrat approval for all further ads.

Funny I did read that in the paper today. You'd think the media would report something like this.

This controversy was canned. These people were waiting in the wings. These people had a script and were ready to go.

Rush did an audio montage.

This does expose that each group has their assignements. The DNC IS coordinating the 527's.

The question becomes how reflex are the reactions. If the DNC set these automated reactions, then Bush can trigger them at his own will. These commercials are innocuous. Many of the local news programs have only the part of Bush walking in hall saying the "I amd George Bush and I approve this ad". He looks good.

What other automated objections? The carrier landing comes to mind. Bush in the classroom comes to mind. Bush in Iraq for thanksgiving comes to mind. Bush's Definition of Marraige speech comes to mind.

What happens when their landmines are used up?

I heard it. And to think we've only just begun. Just wait until it sinks in that they are going to lose the election.

BOOM!

It would offend them highly if they had to report any good news toward GWB. Its going to be a very long campaign

President's Remarks
video image view

This country has many challenges. We will not deny, we will not ignore, we will not pass along our problems to other Congresses, to other presidents, and other generations. (Applause.) We will confront them with focus and clarity and courage...

Sending Americans into battle is the most profound decision a President can make. The technologies of war have changed; the risks and suffering of war have not. For the brave Americans who bear the risk, no victory is free from sorrow. This nation fights reluctantly, because we know the cost and we dread the days of mourning that always come.

We seek peace. We strive for peace. And sometimes peace must be defended. A future lived at the mercy of terrible threats is no peace at all. If war is forced upon us, we will fight in a just cause and by just means -- sparing, in every way we can, the innocent. And if war is forced upon us, we will fight with the full force and might of the United States military -- and we will prevail. (Applause.)

State of the Union Address by President George W. Bush

The President and his folks should laugh off this made-up controversy.

I wish you were right, but I don't think they can. Yesterday, I had a fairly conservative friend tell me that she thought the use of the images in ads were inappropriate. She didn't come up with that issue or that opinion on her own. This drumbeat approach (where dozens of sources all raise the same question simultaneously) clearly works on the many people who don't stay right on top of politics and are not skeptical of the media and their agenda. It is talking points in action, and it works.

Amid NO complaints about the ads among 2,970 of the 3,000 9/11 families, a groundswell of 13 or 14 have voiced their outrage that Bush should mention 9/11 this election year. They call it unconscionable that Bush in the ads should mention that our nation recently has faced "Some challenges . . . like no others."

It bothers me a little than no one has asked these widows and survivors if they have asked CNN or Newsweek to stop using 9/11 images for profit. Of course, that would imply an unbiased media was there to ask the questions.
