I just found out that my 42 year old neice has a brain tumor. She just found out on Friday. Her only symptom was hearing loss. Apparantly it is the size of a golf ball. Surgery is scheduled for Friday. I haven't had a chance to call her or her mom. I had a call from my youngest sister as I was literally going out the door to work today.
A brain tumor is never a good thing but confirmation of malignancy can only be done by examining the thing.
My sister has already been through Hodgkins disease with her first son at age 19. He has already survived 22 years. We have had one miracle.
There are 10 of us siblings stretched out over 20 years. We have been through the deaths of all but one uncle in previous generations. Now that we are starting to get a little age on. You anticipate serious illness within the group of siblings but not to our kids. This seems so out of kilter. She has 3 children of her own.
I know you are a prayerful group. Can you send some her way .

My wife has a brain tumor. She has to go to Augusta, GA next month to be evaluated for treatment options.

Heavenly Father, we return to give You thanks for each dear FReeper who lifts this beloved niece before the Throne of Grace. Touch her in a mighty way, O God, for there is great anxiety and fear. Grant wisdom and skill to the surgeons and to the medical team. May they be exact and precise and may this tumor be totally removed and then, Gracious God, may the report be that this tumor is benign.
Comfort and reassure the family as they help her through this surgery ... may each increasingly rely on You and Your promise that You are with them in every circumstance. "Be anxious for nothing, but in everything, by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known unto God, and the peace of God, which passes all understanding, will keep your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus."
