James Caviezel, who plays Jesus in Mel Gibson's blockbuster "The Passion of the Christ," has reportedly been assigned a security detail to protect him.

"There are some crazy people out there and everything is being done to protect Mel and Jim from physical attack," a source close to executives of Newmarket Films told the London Express.
The paper said Caviezel, a devout Catholic, was being guarded by a "protection squad" amid fears of attacks by "religious fanatics."
According to the report, a mob of protesters has already screamed "anti-Semite" and hurled a bucket of lamb's blood at Gibson in a New York street. Charges of anti-Semitism dogged the filmmaker for months prior to the movie's Feb. 25 opening.
The Express reports Caviezel, 35, and his wife, Kerri, are protected whenever they leave home. Studio executives reportedly are concerned the film's principal figures could be targets for assassination.
Caviezel, who has 20 movies to his credit, told the London paper: "Sadly, any threats have to be taken seriously. It seems a terrible irony to me that this movie has spawned anger and violence. The idea that actors need minders because they portray a man whose mission was to spread the love of God is awful."
As of yesterday, "The Passion of the Christ" had taken in $213,888,740 in U.S. ticket sales and likely is on its way to becoming the highest grossing R-rated film in history.

Oh, I imagine that a small percentage of the threats may coming from Jewish zealots, but I'll bet my next paycheck that an equal (or greater proportion) of them are coming from rabid Leftists miffed at the impact that this film is having on the general public.
Anybody dare to cover that bet?

According to the report, a mob of protesters has already screamed "anti-Semite" and hurled a bucket of lamb's blood at Gibson in a New York street. This can't possibly be true. If Gibson had been drenched in blood, there'd be photos on Drudge, on Fox, on the front pages of newspapers everywhere. I searched for the Express or London Express source on Google. It's a magazine-sized newspaper one cut above the National Inquirer. If there were any references to Gibson and a sheep blood attack I couldn't find them. The citation in this article doesn't say what street it happened on, or when. At this point, I just don't believe it.

Nah. Although we don't agree with the film either, we Roundheads don't gamble.

Next thing you know, they'll be saying that all the demand for Caviezel has to do with a new baking recipe. Yeah, it's gettin' ridiculous. I wonder what they'll come up with tomorrow?

"Not suprised by the Catholic bigots, the next ten years are going to be interesting, what are we moving towards?"
Are you saying the bigots are Catholic, or that bigots are targeting Catholics? Your qualifying adjective of "Catholic" as a modifier of "bigots" suggests that you are claiming that the bigots are Catholic. Was that your intent?

Agreed. It would have been major news everywhere.
The story is not true.
Threats on actors or religious figures are not uncommon.
The Pope has to ride in a bulletproof automobile because of the screwballs out there.
Britney Spears has 4 bodyguards. So has Benny Hinn.
It is the price of fame in world going mad

What do you think? What is this thread about? Context. Bigots against Catholics and Christians, get a clue.

How easily Muslims can committ hate crimes against Christians and now thanks to the ADL and Foxman...their terrorism can be blamed on Jews...Israel supporting believing Jews at that....who will of course be innocent....
This kind of 'framing' was set up by the ADL...and either they are in league with the muslims (since they both hate Israel and believing Jews.)..the atheists and muslims share a goal here
To divide Evangelical Chrisitans who support Israel and believing Jews....
These JINOs are in bed with the Islamo-Facists...at least in that they both worship the same god....of the underworld...those that love death hate God..the real God of Abraham, Isaac & Jacob..that is...
imo
