This is such an OUTSTANDING post Mama Bear!

Thank you, Sis. I love doing these presentations. The only problem is knowing when to stop. Some states are harder than others, because there is just so much say.

Your presentation was going so well until you mentioned shoo-fly pie. Had it for the first time recently.......did not like it!

Sounds a bit sweet and sticky, doesn't it? I'm not much fond of molassas, but the Pennsylvania Dutch are apparently famous for this dessert. LOL.

So, no mistakes today? ;-)

Yes, I have been to Pennsylvania in fact. Several times.

I've been there once or twice, but that was many, many years ago. I remember it as being a pretty state though, lots of beautiful autumn colors and rolling hills.

Nice read on Pennsylvania's. Let me share with you something about Texas women. Probably some of you have seen it before, but it's still a good read.

Three men were sitting together bragging about how they had set their new wives straight on their duties. The first man had married a woman from Penn. And bragged that he had told his wife she was going to do all the dishes and house cleaning that needed done at their house. He said that it took a couple days but on the third day he came home to a clean house and the dishes were all washed and put away.

The second man had married a woman from West Virginia. He bragged that he had given his wife orders that she was to do all the cleaning, dishes, and cooking. He told them that the first day he didn't see any results, but the next day it was better. By the third day, his house was clean, the dishes was done, and he had a huge dinner on the table.

The third man had married a Texas girl. He boasted that he told her his house was to be cleaned, dishes washed, the cooking done and laundry washed. And this was all her responsibility. He said the first day he didn't see anything and the second day he didn't see anything but by the third day some of the swelling had gone down so he could see a little out of his left eye!

Got to love Texas Women

We love driving along the Delaware Water gap. And folks should try to get in a visit to the Washinton's Crossing Ststae Historical Site. And Valley Forge. There really is a lot to see and do in PA :)

I was reading about Valley Forge yesterday and the desperate condition of the Continental Army encamped there. They suffered terrible deprivation during that hard winter, and many ultimately gave their lives for the dream of an independent nation.

Pinging .30carbine to your recommendation of what to see in PA.

Mornin' MEG. Yes, the history of Pennsylvania and the part she played in the birth of our country is very interesting. I didn't much like history when I was in school, but I have come to appreciate it as an adult.

Nice to see you here today. Hope it is a beautiful day in your neighborhood.

you mentioned shoo-fly pie. Had it for the first time recently.......did not like it!

They always do that to you the first time; don't tell you to make sure you shoo all the flies away.

Remember if they have wings they aren't raisins...:>)

Lori, grate post about one of our first and most historical states!

voc, and abner ping to home sweet home.

Oh, BTW voc, loved your pictures and article on the Airplane Muzeum...where is that thread anyway???

The Pennsylvania Dutch are natives of Central Pennsylvania, particularly Lancaster and its surrounding counties.

Marketing copy aimed at tourists.

The Pennsylvania Dutch are natives of Eastern Pennsylvania, particularly Berks county and its surrounding counties.

If you come to our commonwealth, try visiting the western section a little. Titusville has a mock up of the world's first oil weel at Drake's Well Park (beautiful with Oil Creek running just alongside), Bradford with the Zippo Lighter museum, and the best jewel in the crown, Presque Isle off Erie.

Hope I didn't miss you.... :o(

Yep, you did. But, I'll be here for awhile this afternoon, although it is a perfectly beautiful day here today, it's going to be hard not to go outside and soak up some of this warm sunshine that I have been so looking forward to. It's 72 degrees - doesn't get much better than that.

Thanks so much for another great cybertour!

You're very welcome. Hope you can stop back later this afternoon or this evening.
