I am worried that they chose to operate so soon with an inflammed pancreas. I am relieved that the Dr. has reported that the surgery is over and that he is doing fine. The surgery sounds more like an exploratory procedure to further examine the pancreas.

My prayers and with him and his family.

There is mo doubt in my mind that John Ashcroft is the best AG in my voting history, and that is a long time too.

My son-in-law died two years ago with pancreatic cancer, following what was diagnosed as pancreatitis. HE was only 39 years old.

I am not saying that Ashcroft has cancer of the pancreas, but the fact that he is still in ICU is troubling, and the timing to remove the gallbladder at this time worries me.

Ashcroft has one thing going for him and that is his Faith in God. He knows who is looking after him.

Ashcroft surgery a success

http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/1094152/posts

"Doctors in Washington say the surgery to remove Attorney General John Ashcroft's gall bladder was a success.

They say they were able to perform the operation without making a large incision.

Ashcroft is now listed in guarded condition, but doctors say that's normal after surgery. They say he's "recovering very nicely" from general anesthesia.

Doctor Bruce Abell says Ashcroft had a "pretty severe" case of pancreatitis, and that doctors had to wait for it to settle before they could operate.

"

Thank God, it went well.

I think they needed to do that, because his pancreatitis was not getting better. Originally they were going to wait. I think he is not out of the woods yet, but I hope he will recover soon.

Pancreatitis can be very nasty, it could take weeks to get over it, but once he is over it, he should be good as new.

The dark side of the web is home to democraticunderground.com, whose residents are known as DUers. They attract the worst of the lefties and their site is rated "R" for obscenity.

Good news!

According to our experts on this thread, John should be back to work by Monday.

And he won't pull a Lyndon Johnson and show us his scars!
