That "radioactive uranium" wouldn't be anything like those "depleted uranium" pieces that we use, would it?

I jsut want to make certain we are not portraying a double standard -

IF this is different (as in the uranium in the Russian missiles is actually highly radioactive) then I can see the big deal. If it is essentially nothing different than the material we use in armor piercing rounds, then it's not such a huge issue.

Now - where were these missiles found? If in Iraq - how did they get them and how old are they? They certainly don't look like the "antiques" found earlier in the war.

"Saudi border guards said they arrested nearly 150,000 infiltrators and smugglers during the past three months."

That is an enormous number of arrests, especially considering Saudi Arabia's small population...

No, no! I wasn't doubting your comment/quote...just observing that was a large number of arrests...as in, "something has changed."

Not really a dirty bomb, but the 'heavy' material was used to help penetration into armor plating on aircraft.

You're right. The warhead of the AA-8 contains depleted uranium. It's radioactive, but nothing like you'd need for a "dirty bomb". The headlines are misleading.

I wrote about this here:

No matter how many times you post pictures of the FREE Afgahani women, my eyes mist over.

There, but for the grace of God...

I am so thankful to have been born an American woman.

Now they will have a chance at dignity.
