What, me worry?
Kerry has assured me that the threats are overexaggerated.

Has anyone read through this thread here about the Greek train plot? Machine translations leave a bit to be desired, but...better than nothing... Bet this and the Spain attack yesterday sure will cause even greater Olympic security this summer... I'm honestly shocked little Daleel hadn't tried to bring that up in his "guess the event" game awhile back...

"I have a feeling this is going to be 'THE' thread. Where everything comes to a climax."
As I type this I am remembering all the hours---NO all the days and months of worring, wondering, wanting to know if we could make a difference. Can we find the secret. Can we help prevent the disaster that they claimed to have made for us.
If only one thing we do could save the life of a human being. If only one child can be saved from the darkness that lives in the heart of these evil ones who shout for our destruction. If we could all look up in the sky and remember how beautiful it is. Yes the climax comes. The moment of truth where all the forces of good and evil fight the war that is before us. And I do pray that we will take them down and cast them into a place they can do no more harm. With God's help of course.
But The world grows darker in so many ways. We have enemys we have not even thought about. Many times there are those among us who have no love for what is good. They too search for ways to defy there God and bring evil to our midst. And so I ask you Calpernia- Will it be over. Will it ever be over?

They haven't given up. They haven't gone back to their day jobs. They haven't converted to Christianity or become Hindus or Buddhists. They haven't become psychologically balanced or given up their hatred and anger.
It's only a matter of time until they attack again, and they are no doubt planning big things. They may not succeed as well as they plan.
Until more of them are wiped out (or converted), we are in danger. Of that I have no doubt.
One big question is nukes.

Late night ramblings:
Cal, you think things are going to pick up from here on out?
Loftus expressed the opinion tonight that AQ was unable to command a series of attacks, they were in disarray, and we wouldn't see anything for a while.
Of course, He also swore up and down Saddam was dead. I take things he says with a grain of salt, I think he has his agenda too. He also promotes the Bush-Nazi link and is a devoted Dem.
So, If I was AQ and wanted the world to crumble under it's own wieght, I would want a string of attacks in rapid succession, have people afraid to do anything, try to bring down the economic system. Spain, then within a few days Japan, Poland, France, Britain, then the US, in that order even. What do you think?
I don't know, when it comes right down to it, if the main goal is the destruction of the US, I would leave Europe completely alone. All attacking Europe is going to do is push them towards the US, no?
Judging by the millions marching in Spain today, and if more attacks across Europe produce the same reaction in their respective countries, it will be a bad place to be a muslim. It will be a bad world to be a muslim.
I know 9/11 changed a lot of American minds, mine being one of them. Why do that to a Europe you already have in your back pocket via Iran?
They don't really think they can win anything this way, do they?

Special and Black Ops has been in motion for a few months:
This is the closest we will get in any Official word:
Special Operations Takes Front-Line Role in Anti-Terror War
U.S. special operations troops have become a key military weapon in the war on terrorism, DoD's top special operations official told U.S. House of Representatives' members here March 11.
Special operators are "taking the war to the terrorists before it can be fought on our own soil or that of our allies," Thomas W. O'Connell said in testimony before the House Terrorism, Unconventional Threats and Capabilities Subcommittee. O'Connell is the assistant secretary of defense for special operations and low-intensity conflict.
If nothing more happens than the dam breaking in Mississippi and the pipe bombs going off in mail boxes, I will be THRILLED.
And we all owe these guys a big group hug.

There is also the issue of state sponsorship.
Mansoor Ijaz was on FoxNews and he expressed that he was certain of Iran's sponsorship of AQ terrorists. I think we have read enough about various "rumors", as well as Iran's nuclear ambitions, and hatred for the US, that I find this believable. I think, that just as we went in to Afghanistan to deny the terrorists a sanctuary, we need to do the same with Iran and Syria.

The logic isn't as easy to follow as much since most of the first tier was disrupted. Now the 'enablers' are working through a lot of 2nd tier commands. They aren't as groomed for this responsibility.
So more of a liberal/commie flavor is starting to show through versus masking through the Islamic religion.
London was a listed target. The US was/is suppose to be hit after London. Odd thing though, a communication was scene Wednesday night with Las Vegas listed next to London. So is London a false flag? Was Las Vegas listed for another reason?
It gets harder to tell. Especially when our computers keep experiencing problems when we try to find out.

But I'm also trying to think about the big strategic picture. Where will they hit next and how soon?
This was 2 1/2 years after 9/11. If the want to accomplish anything, they certainly can't wait another 2 1/2 years, eh?
If so, this attack did nothing for them, except turn public sentiment against them.
This was only days before elections in Spain, any other countries on their hit list with elections coming up?
Russia's is soon? or did it already happen? How long ago were the attacks on the Russian commuter train? It seems like eons ago...

We probably need to go back through what we've come up with so far. It seems as though the most important clue are the audio messages sent by Zawahiri. This article is from November but is pertinent now based on the attack in Spain. I don't know if they could hit us with 10 bombs like that without being detected by someone. But, never say never.

Al-Qaida terrorists
to gas U.S. subways?
DHS memo warns of device that uses cyanide to asphyxiate its victims
Posted: November 25, 2003

By Paul Sperry

WASHINGTON Al-Qaida terrorists have developed a crude device designed to spread deadly cyanide gas through the ventilation systems of crowded indoor facilities such as subways, according to a closely held security directive issued to law enforcement by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security and obtained exclusively by WorldNetDaily.
"Al-Qaida remains intent on using chemical or biological agents in attacks on the homeland," says the internal warning. "Terrorists have designed a crude chemical dispersal device fabricated from commonly available materials, which is designed to asphyxiate its victims."
Marked "For Official Use Only," the five-page memo issued Friday says the device produces cyanogen chloride gas and hydrogen cyanide gas, and can be placed near air intakes or ventilation systems in crowded open spaces or enclosed spaces.
"These gases are most effective when released in confined spaces such as subways, buildings or other crowded indoor facilities," adds the Homeland Security memo, which was distributed to federal agencies in anticipation of possible al-Qaida attacks around the end of the Muslim holiday Ramadan, which happens to coincide with Thanksgiving and the start of the regular holiday season.
Citing "recent information" from al-Qaida sources, the directive also warns of possible car-bombings in America, as first reported yesterday by WorldNetDaily, and advises security officials to take code-red protective measures to guard government buildings and gas and other chemical plants.
"Al-Qaida continues to plan attacks against U.S. targets," the memo asserts.
Despite the high-threat measures, the administration has decided to keep the public terror-threat alert at yellow, or elevated. Phone calls to Homeland Security were not returned.
Experts in chemical weapons say al-Qaida is known to have sought a weapon to pump cyanide gas into ventilation systems.
"Al-Qaida has shown an interest in cyanide as a weapon," said Amy Sands, former deputy director of nonproliferation studies at the Monterey Institute of International Studies in California.
She cites Ahmed Ressam, the terrorist convicted of plotting to bomb Los Angeles International Airport during the millennium celebrations. He claims to have been trained to kill people with cyanide at an al-Qaida camp in Afghanistan.
"His terrorist masters also taught him how to introduce cyanide gas into public ventilation systems in order to affect the maximum number of victims, while minimizing the risk to the perpetrator," Sands said.
She also points to the nine al-Qaida-tied Moroccans arrested last year in Rome. They allegedly were planning to poison the water supply of the U.S. embassy with potassium ferrocyanide.
"Al-Qaida has shown a continued interest in targeting subways, rail systems, dams and water facilities" in America, the Homeland Security memo warns.
Noting the recent "sophisticated" car-bombings in Saudi Arabia and Turkey, it adds that the terror group may use "novel methods" to pull off such attacks in America, including disguising suicide bombers as women.
"Male bombers may dress as females in order to discourage scrutiny," the federal memo warns.

So, following the supporters of the great satan theme, London would be the next logical target. Would they mess with eastern European countries? Poland would be the other major US European supporter, then Japan and Australia.
It just keeps flashing back to me that if they want to actually DO anything, it's going to have to be a lot of very rapid attacks. It's going to have to be big attacks that can't be recovered from.
I grieve with our Spanish friends and am outreged by the atrocity, but the attack has really done nothing other than turn sentiment against AQ across Europe.
That's what's crazy to me. All they seem to be doing by all these attacks, including 9/11 is assuring their own destruction.

My guess is the highest immediate threat is in areas that were once under islamist (Ottoman) rule.
We are still target #1 in the long run.
Second tier targets would be countries that joined us in Iraq, probably in either order of joining, reverse order of joining, or by number of troops deployed.
This is making the huge assumption that there is still central control, otherwise it's as each severed hydra head gets it's shiite together...
