"WEED" was used for years as the MMID(Market Maker Identification) symbol for Weeden & Co. for trading NASDAQ stocks. The number for the trading desk, printed in the official NASD 'super secret'(for profesionals only, no public calls were allowed) phone book(and Level 3 trading terminal database) was
1-800-BUY-WEED.
Now if you got that mixed up with 1-800-WANT-POT, you called an entirely different business. ;-)
