Palestinian boy unwillingly set up as suicide bomber

Boy set up as unwitting suicide bomber, say Israelis
JERUSALEM (AP) Troops at a West Bank checkpoint arrested a 12-year-old boy today as he unknowingly tried to smuggle a bomb out of the West Bank city of Nablus, the army said.
Security sources said the boy was released after questioning.
The commander of the army unit that caught the boy said soldiers' suspicions were aroused by the weight of a school bag he was carrying. When they examined the contents they found a bomb, laced with nuts and bolts to increase its killing power.
"It was a pretty serious bomb, between seven and 10 kilograms," the officer, identified only as Lt.-Col. Guy, told Israeli Army Radio. "It was ready for detonation, apparently with a mobile phone."
Israeli security officials said the army had received intelligence warnings of an attempt to mount an attack from Nablus, which has been the staging point for many past bomb attacks on Israel.
Palestinians said the boy, from the poverty-ridden Balata refugee camp on the southern edge of the city, worked as a porter at the nearby Huwwara checkpoint, helping to carry the belongings of Palestinians forbidden to drive through.
The security officials, speaking on condition of anonymity, said the boy was hired to carry baggage by militants linked to Yasser Arafat's Fatah movement and did not know the contents of the backpack they gave him.
The officials said that the militants planned to explode the device as the boy passed through the checkpoint, but failed because of a technical fault. The explosion would have killed the boy and nearby soldiers.
Guy said the boy was hired by an adult to carry the bag. He said it was common for terror groups to use innocent-looking children or women as couriers for arms and explosives.

The explosion would have killed the boy and nearby soldiers. I wish there were words in the language to fully describe the kinds of people who would do this. In any event, not people who we need to "negotiate" with, or if we do, negotiate with them like we would "negotiate" with a rabid dog.

The relevant question is why we're preventing Israel from going after the terrorist plaguing her the way we've gone after al qaeda.

But that would ruin the place for decades to come, so that sane people wouldn't be able to inhabit it and make something useful there.

It amazes me (even moreso in light of this news) that so much of the world thinks Israel is in the wrong, and that they need to negotiate with people who would force a young kid to do such a thing.

Actually, I am not surprised at all. The way they look at it, he is guaranteed entry into Paradise because of his age anyhow, so they are not actually hurting him by blowing him up and taking a few Israelis with him.
It's just the way they think... and why anyone who thinks that there is a possibility of peace between Islam and the west is deluding themselves.

No wonder these kids have so much hate. Can you imagine the environment they are brought up in? What kind of adults would sacrifice their children? In advanced cultures parents sacrifice for their children.

I'm not suprised either. These aren't human beings. They are animals that need to be exterminated.

The number one cash crop in Palestine is their children. The slot machine doesn't pay off till the child is slaughtered.
Try looking up Molech in the bible. Not much has changed among the pagans. They are still passing their children into the fire.

US foreign policy has not yet realized that what is targetting Israel is doomed to reach us in the very near future, and has not yet identified its war on terror with Israel's 55+ year war on terror.

He's a bargaining chip, according to the Dept. of State, and he is a "honey pot" according to intel gatherers.
While according to economists, his being alive guarantees the flow of oil from his "Arab brothers."
Whereas, I would remove him from the board, regardless of the consequences. While some say that "we do not bargain with terrorists," I would subjigate Americans to the notion that a terrorist has more value; no sanctuaries; and unconditional surrender; period.
To wit: In answer to the question, Shall Osama bin Laden be found Dead or Alive?
I say, It does not matter --- that is, I would not delay his apprehension on the basis of somehow maneuvering to achieve either outcome. Instead, I would just plain get him; period.
In addition, Arafat has no benefit for the United States nor for Americans, that "buys" him, in my view, any protection greater than what is in store for Osama bin Laden.
If, in the case of Libya's leader, such a terrorist should "come to Jesus," then for now, let there be life.
Yet, neither Saddam, nor bin Laden, nor Arafat, nor bin Laden's deputies, nor several socialist leaders of this world, have "come to Jesus."
Indeed, they are all in absolute retreat from, truth, love, individual freedom and individual prosperity and individual happiness ... whence come such rewards for free peoples' communities and lands.
Arafat, Castro, et al, are only about aborting life, aborting liberty, aborting happiness, and such dictators have made it their "business" to be, also in my view, our mortal enemies.
Along with Saddam, I would arrest Castro and Arafat and charge them simply with murder; nothing monstrous, just a few definite cases for which there is overwhelming evidence that is not even in any kind of need of "reasonable doubt."
Charge them as simple, basic, rotten murderous bastards.
Another way of putting is, our Arab allies ought not be in any hurry for us to leave, because our process of withdrawal from certain bases and theatres of operations, shall not be pleasant for the murderous bastards among them.
Excepting, again, and of course, those few who "come to Jesus."

True, about 75 Americans have been murdered by the PLO and its sponsored groups since 1967, including State Dept. officials. But the US turns a blind eye to those deaths. Remember the 3 who were murdered in Gaza last year? The US complained about the sham trial the PLO put on for some men. Those men have since been released by Arafat's court (which shows you this was just all an illusion), and you won't hear from the US ever again about it.

True, in the terrorist sense, the first attack on us was in 1979, but I think what I meant to say was that those groups targetting Israel for one, will be reaching us in the very near future (the mainland), and also probably homegrown Islamic terrorists as well. Specifically those groups reaching us in the mainland, I mean both the groups themselves and their tactics (buses blowing up, etc.).
