Prayer Needed
04.20.04
Posted on 03/16/2004 8:30:42 PM PST by mlmr
My middle daughter who is 11 starts testing for Cushing's Syndrome on Friday. She is so young and it is such a big disease. I am kicking myself for not recognizing it earlier. I thought she had some sort of refractory issue with TypeII diabetes. I had been thinking of bringing her to a pediatric endocrinologist for the past year. But her sysmptoms were too vague. They have blossemed.
I need Freeper prayers. There are few more even tempered and pleasant children than my middler. Always eager to help, generous, and kind, she is the daughter I always have hoped would take me in when I am in my dotage. I am so frightened for her.
One thing that I need to know, I keep on reading how people find the top medico in a particualar speciality on the Internet. I have been searching all day for top Cushing Syndrome people. How are they found? Through research papers?

I've always believed in prayer, and when my son was diagnosed my belief doubled. We've got to keep these babies covered!
Thanks, isn't it nice to have the only God big enough to handle ALL our burdens and cares?!
You're welcome, trussell....any time.

Hail Mary, full of grace; the Lord is with thee: blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death.
Ave Maria, gratia plena, Dominus tecum. Benedicta tu in mulieribus, et benedictus fructus ventris tui, Iesus. Sancta Maria, Mater Dei, ora pro nobis peccatoribus, nunc, et in hora mortis nostrae.

I feel as though I have walked in your shoes, at least for a while. I have a son who has also been sick, and his symptoms were sometimes vague but also persistent. He is my baby and as sweet as they come. Sometimes I think God must just give these ones the best temperament because of what He knows that they will endure in their lifetimes.
Although I am in Ohio, I will call my children's endocrinologist tomorrow to see if they have any recommendations of referrals in your area. Mine don't have Cushing's, at least not that we know yet, but they do have other problems, so we see this doctor here about every three months. Hopefully this wonderful doctor can point us in a good direction for you and your child.
My heart and prayers go out to you. If my child was any example, there is a point where every day is such a challenge, and it can be very overwhelming. You've come to a good place (at FR) to ask for help. Surely the good Lord will help us help you to find some answers. God bless you!
