After the Fall

JOCK STRAPPED
It's been less than a month, and already there are rumors inside the Treasury Department that a Secret Service agent working on the detail for presumptive Democratic presidential nominee is asking for reassignment.

"It was the shopping thing in Boston last week," says a uniformed service officer. "It has been the talk around the office. The man makes his security detail run errands with him, including when buying a jock strap? It was all photo-op stuff. Two weeks earlier, Senator Kerry would have had an intern do it. Another man would have asked his wife or kids to help him out. But Kerry said he needed to be out in public."

John Kerry made quite a scene traveling around Boston first buying a number of nonfiction, difficult-to-read books with titles that would impress anyone who didn't realize Kerry probably won't actually read them, except for maybe the late Stephen Ambrose's Undaunted Courage. Kerry also picked up his bicycle from the shop, and then picked out the athletic supporter. With his daughter looking on.

Further adding to the tension is Kerry's behavior in Ketchum, Idaho, where while on the slopes snowboarding Kerry made much of his athletic prowess in the hours leading up to his first official foray. Yet once network news cameras were deployed, Kerry and his staff asked that no pictures be taken until after he'd had a "practice run."

The cameramen agreed. At that point, Kerry allowed several cameramen on skis to follow him down the slopes. But a few minutes later, when a Secret Service agent accidentally knocked Kerry down as the agent avoided some other skiers, Kerry threw a fit.

"First, Kerry sat up and took off his sunglasses. He was looking to see where the cameras were and whether his fall got photographed," says a production assistant for one of the network crews. Then when asked about the tumble by a producer for one of the crews, Kerry infamously snapped, "I don't fall down. That son of a bitch ran into me," and pointed at the Secret Service agent.

"It was an extremely uncomfortable scene. Everyone saw it," says the production assistant. "It reminded a few of the older folks of the early Clinton days when he would dress down staff and low level aides when he got mad."

Later, Kerry walked into the ski resort's lounge. Outside, standing on the deck, there had been a smattering of applause. Kerry waived and entered the lounge, apparently thinking he'd get more of the same.

Instead, he heard taunts of "Bush. Bush. Bush." The candidate didn't stay long, and didn't acknowledge the jeers of his opposition. He shouldn't have been surprised ... Idaho is attack-machine Red State territory after all.

THE NEW ISOLATIONISM
Last Tuesday, the Prowler reported that presumed Democratic presidential nominee John Kerry's campaign had contacted Spanish prime minister elect Jose Luis Rodriguez Zapatero in the wake of the Spanish Socialists' victory to express hope that the two men might meet.

Last Thursday Zapatero returned Kerry's phone call. Kerry, however, did not take the call, according to a Kerry adviser in Washington.

What a difference a few days make.

On some of her trips overseas, Jackie Kennedy would get the Secret Service agents up at night to go to town to find her a diaphram. She was just as bad as Jack when it came to running around.

Perhaps JFingK was trying to commit suidcide in Viet Nam after all. It sure sound terrible just be around him, much less to be him.

It must be miserable to be JFingK without his ex-wife's and older wife's hundred$ of million$.

Did he put himself up for his 4th band-aid Purple Heart, as he reportedly did for his first 3?

Was that "son-of-a-b!+ch" Secret Service agent injured?

Wonder whether they ask themselves if it's worth sacrificing their lives for such a creep? Wonder what the turnover rate is for the Clintons?

Hey before he was the Dem Pick we watched him on CSPAN and saw him playing ice hockey with Dennis O Leary and honestly it looked like the opponents let him make points. Unless I was confused and that was mid game practice shots.

The game was interupted several times so his buddy O'Leary and a few onlookers made statements all alike on how Kerry was not one to call the media to his "good deeds" for photo ops.

Well folks this may be true for the Banana Catsup Boy. He obvioulsy calls the media to other important photo ops such as his "ice capades", jock sizing and dude I am like a don't fall down snowboarder events.

Is Kerry going through his version of middle age crisis much like Dudley Moore in the 70's movie "10"?

Hey Mrs. Banana Catsup maybe time to call in the beaded hair braiders just in time for your husbands summer water sports!

My best friend was working for NASA at Moffet Field, where Clinton would fly into when he visited the Bay area. She spoke to SS men often and said they hated Clinton and had no respect for him at all.

Initially it was quite high, especially when the USSS did not know to what extent they were supposed to go to protect Clinton from the First Lady who hit him in the head with the lamp. Clinton finally got some agents who would turn a blind eye to his fooling around. Go to some early pictures of the Clinton White House and go to some of the later ones and see if you can tell the difference in the agents.

I would guess old time magazines and such. That is where I saw them. Things began to change after the rumors that were coming out about the fights in the White House. This was about the same time Gary Aldrich (FBI) published his book about the goings on in the White House.

I have NO onside knowledge of that sort of thing, which I agree,is NOT credible;however, I have been told by an eye witness, about a weekend Jackie and Bobby Kennedy shared (if you get my drift) in early 1965,in Vermont,at a ski resort, where neither skied on snow.

Isn't that what blacksmiths use to blow air on their fires? Why would Jackie need one of those in the middle of the night? Isn't that what upstairs maids are for?

Forget about the hanky-panky and take a second look at the contraception angle.

1) Unless a woman has more than one uterus, she doesn't need more than one diaphram.

2) Diaphrams are not sold over the counter.

3) If Jackie forgot hers at home, she would have to have had detailed info to give to a doctor to find one to give to the SS

He did many things and all of them poorly or disastrously.

It was Jackie who cooked up that " CAMELOT " garbage and got E.B.White to exploit it and have the media run with it.

That isn't true...he totally screwed up the Bay of Pigs, and damn near nuked the world by letting the commies get nukes to Cuba. Then created a brinksmanship crisis...and pulled our nukes out of Turkey.

(Which, after the Soviet archives were opened, was the Soviet intention from the beginning...create a bargaining chip to get us to pull short range nukes out of Turkey)

It was Theodore White, the man who wrote the book, that the play "CAMELOT" was based on.She invited him for tea, chewed his ear off,and he got everyone in the media to put out this propaganda. This is a well known story, I remember it from the time, but after all of these years, few know about this now.

Heck, during JFK's term in office, even the N.Y. Times was slamming him, for being an ineffectual, horrible president, while they drooled over Jackie.

This is a well known story, I remember it from the time, but after all of these years, few know about this now.

It was Theodore White, and what you describe is exactly what happened. According to this article I found online, here's how it went down:

Thus, White House life and Jackie Kennedy's White House renovation became essential parts of the Kennedy legend. Jacqueline Kennedy knew exactly what she was doing. Any doubt about that awareness, and any doubts about her legacy, disappear in the days after the tragedy of John Kennedy's assassination.

Shortly after the incident, Jackie summoned Theodore White to Hyannis Port. The journalist came despite a driving rain storm. He would end up telling his editors to hold the presses. During that interview, the widow's message was clear. She spoke about her late husband, and gave the administration, in retrospect, a name it never had before--and one that Jack Kennedy might have hated.

Jack loved the musical, Camelot, his wife informed the reporter, "and the song he loved most came at the very end of this record, the last side of Camelot, sad Camelot: "Don't let it be forgot, that once there was a spot, for one brief shining moment that was known as Camelot."

Having made the American people's castle suitable for a king, the departing queen made sure that Americans would remember her husband--and her--as just the right mix of aristocratic and democratic, of the people and beyond the people, and that the legend, like the Arthurian ideal she evoked, would never die.

I feel like puking after reading that! ;)
