There has been much good work done by FReepers this past weekend. Although I was unable to directly participate, I thought that compiling a summary of all the threads on the counter-protests would be a worthwhile endeavor, and might redeem me for my lack of participation.
And Bravo! to all you FReepers who participated and otherwise helped.

I've provided a link and an excerpt from each city. It is interesting to note the similarity in the descriptions of the peace-at-all-costs antiwar crowd in these reports.
Atlanta
It was a pack of the usual suspects: A.N.S.W.E.R., World Workers Party (Socialists), Pro-Palestinians, young tattooed and pierced globalists, and aged hippies stuck in the 60's.
Bonus Atlanta ProtestWarrior report here
The ProtestWarriors do good work, good to see them out on this one alongside FReepers.
Manhattan
It always amazes me how the peace protesters and the "anti-violence" anti-gunners are always the ones to initiate violence.
Boston Freepers in NYC
Hollywood
half way through their parade while my neighbor (14 yr old girl) and I were right up against the police tape some a##hole hocked a huge loogie and spit on us...The awesome LAPD swarmed him and took him down and handcuffed him... I didn't think much but, "I love my LAPD" then an officer came up to us and asked if "we were the ones who were spit on?" I said yes he asked if we would like to press charges. I could hardly think straight and said "yeah".
Anyway, he was arrested. We are going to court to prosecute this guy, the police officer said to the officer that came and took him to jail that he would be happy to be a witness cause the "bad" guy literally spit over his shoulder to get to us.
Milwaukee
Same ole washed out commies, some curious, some luke-warm against the war, mainly the same rabid Bush-hating zealots who appear at the Rallies of the Perpetually P.Oed. They were very diverse in their ravings indicating that there is no growing movement just an attempt to form alliances among the America haters. Numbers were about the same as the earlier rallies maybe 1200 at the peak. Not very impressive considering the beautiful day and the proximity of thousands of clueless college kids.
Austin
I had 2 young girls tell me they liked the burka and my sign... visulize losing the war. They said they think about that all the time. AS IF they wanted the US to lose. it is incredible that they would actually want their own country to lose.
San Francisco
Lots of great ProtestWarrior pics in this one.
Also from San Francisco, the ugliest pic from this protest.
Just. Plain. Evil.
Save that one to your hard drive.
Fayetteville, NC (outside Fort Bragg, home of the 82nd Airborne)
The rag-tag crew that ascended the hill (about 600-700) people looked to be a mish mash of seasoned citizens wearing torn clothing and trash bags, and junior high school students waving such signs as "My dad is a Navy veteran, and he opposes the war". Okay, so where's your dad?
Fayetteville thread II
I listened in amazement as virtually every liberal cause celebre was trotted out for their audience. This ran the gamut from pro-union diatribes to anti-police screeds, feminist dictums, Halliburton/Cheney conspiracies and the like.
If I missed any reports, please post the city and the link.

Thank you, Chief.
Interesting quote from the ChiTown thread:
Of course, we also threatened by the peacenik thugs that always seem to be integral to these events, one jackass saying that wed be running when the marchers came down the street. When RedWing answered that weve already encountered these guys last year at their Rogers Park march, the peacenik thug shouted, This aint Rogers Park. To which RedWing replied, So what are you going to do, beat me up? and the jackass seemed to calm down after that. We also encountered a few other young peacepunks but their threats were pretty incoherent.

No.
LAPD did NOT bother US, only the BAD guys.
The officers from L.A.'s finest were there to protect US - from the left-wing crazies.
Our only disapointment was that they required the Protest Warriors to dismantle their signs, so that they could confiscate the "illegal lumber" - i.e. two inches by 3/4 inch.
Otherwise, we had NO problems with the police.

"The Ugly Similarities between Hillary Clinton and John Kerry"
from
http://www.hilldabeast.com -
Recent events show the ugly similarities between Hillary Clinton and John Kerry.
They share many of the disgusting traits from the underbelly of liberal bottom dwellers.
Both, Hillary and John have the following in common:
Socialist/extreme left agenda.
Contradict themselves regularly.
Want to raise taxes and distribute wealth.
Could care less about the country due to their own power hungry plans of destruction.
Not easy on the eyes.
Look horrible in a skirt.
Just to name a few.
*** ***
Two brilliant FR posters added some more!
-- "Add "treat secret service like 'the help'"
-- "You can add: Use their offspring as props.
Kerry got caught in some faux pas that was fodder for
the Boston "news" people. He deliberately went on a
shopping spree (where have I heard that before??) with
his then - young daughters. The hounding press were
unable to ask the biting questions.
And, of course, he denied using the girls as a shield.

We also encountered a few other young peacepunks but their threats were pretty incoherent. I want to add an experience I had near the end when we moved from the march to the back of the rally. We started into some discussions with a person or two and an example of John Ashcroft's killing of civil liberties, to them, was all the police presence. I quickly retorted, "well, if it wasn't for individuals in your group who decide to destroy and disrupt using violence, the police wouldn't be needed". I got blank stares...

Illegal lumber???????
Here is what I posted about this to the Protest Warriors, on the
OTHER thread:
As I told many of the Protest Warriors yesterday, what you guys did was AMAZING...
...particularly for your FIRST TIME out!
I would like to personally apologize to both the Protest Warriors - and to the LAPD, though, for MIS-informing you about the proper dimensions for "legal" sticks to hold your signs. When we met with Captain Mike Downing (Hollywood Division, LAPD) on the Friday before the event, I asked him what the rules were...
.. and I
**thought** that he said
two inches by 3/4" -
which is what I told you guys, and which is what you guys attached to your signs.
Here at Free Republic, we are proud of our LONG, and exemplary record of working VERY effectively with the police departments in jurisdictions all across the country where we protest, and I would not want to do ANYTHING which could jeopardize that professional, relationship.Police oficers have a job to do which is as important as the one that our men and woemn in the Armed Forces are doing overseas, and we DEPEND on them to protect us from the (often NASTY) opposition which generally out-number us by ten- or ONE HUNDRED-to-one).
"Ignorance of the law" is NO EXCUSE, and HERE is the law from the
Beverly Hills Police Department website:
Wood or Wood Products. It is unlawful to carry or possess any length of lumber, wood or wood lath greater than one foot in length, unless the wood object is blunted at its ends, is 1/4 inch or less in thickness and 2 inches or less in width, or if not generally rectangular in shape, does not exceed 3/4 inch at its thickest dimension. [BHMC Section 4-3.209(a)]
You COULD have been arrested for carrying those sticks, and I was wrong, and am sorry.
NEXT time, we will do better.

No, not at all. At least in my case I saw only awesome protection from them... When this old guy in a Palestinian table clothe on his shoulders spit in my face and the face of my friend (14yr old girl)they were all over him before I could even realize what was going on...They took him out of the "Parade" and some girl that was next to him tried to stop the Police and they quickly shut her down.
Then, the arresting officer came and got us and asked if we wanted to press charges, which he explained to me that could mean going to court. We said "YES". One of the officers there even said something nice to us for being there.

I'm so sorry I have no idea what you mean....
But not only to me and my friend, the LAPD were gracious to all of us (as far as I saw). I didn't see anything inappropriate... after a while 5 or 6 bicycle cops came up on the side walk and blocked anyone through traffic cause people were coming up behind us and infiltrating us...

A few pings. Arch - CWII ping?
Indeed. Beg pardon for missing it earlier; the loss of FReeper Harpseal has distracted me, and he'd have been among the first to remind me that the mission comes first.
This little problem we have of late should be no great task to clean up in his memory. He'd have wanted us to take out the trash for him, I think. From a post of his to me from about a year ago:
While going throug SF airport after being discharged from Pearl harbor Naval Hospital. I was going home to NH for a leave. I was in the airport very late about two AM when some hippie scum bag came over to me called me a murdering baby killer and spit in my face. I gave him two hand knifes blows to his rib cage a kick to the back and a kick to the knee. He went down hard on his face. Two SFPD officers saw the incident and came over and arrested him. I was defending myself as far as they were concerned. He had two broken ribs from the hands a ruptured knee and a cracked vertebrae from the kicks. He broke his jaw when he hit the floor. He also was arrested for posession of drugs. This was 1969 he was a student I was still wearing badanges from my surgery.
