Statement by the founder of Free Republic
Free Republic ^

I posted the following statement to our front page in response to the criticism I'm receiving lately as to not being fair and balanced and perceived mistreatment of trolls and assorted malcontents. Got news for all, I'm NOT fair and balanced. I'm biased toward God, country, family, liberty and freedom and against liberalism, socialism, anarchism, wackoism, global balonyism and any other form of tyranny. Hope this helps.
Statement by the founder of Free Republic:
In our continuing fight for freedom, for America and our constitution and against totalitarianism, socialism, tyranny, terrorism, etc., Free Republic stands firmly on the side of right, i.e., the conservative side. Believing that the best defense is a strong offense, we (myself and those whom I'm trying to attract to FR) support the strategy of taking the fight to the enemy as opposed to allowing the enemy the luxury of conducting their attacks on us at home on their terms and on their schedule.
Therefore, we wholeheartedly support the Bush Doctrine of pre-emptive strikes on known terrorist states and organizations that are believed to present a clear threat to our freedom or national security. We support our military, our troops and our Commander-in-Chief and we oppose turning control of our government back over to the liberals and socialists who favor appeasement, weakness, and subserviency. We do not believe in surrendering to the terrorists as France, Germany, Russia and Spain have done and as Kerry, Kennedy, Clinton and the Democrats, et al, are proposing.
As a conservative site, Free Republic is pro-God, pro-life, pro-family, pro-Constitution, pro-Bill of Rights, pro-gun, pro-limited government, pro-private property rights, pro-limited taxes, pro-capitalism, pro-national defense, pro-freedom, and-pro America. We oppose all forms of liberalism, socialism, fascism, pacifism, totalitarianism, anarchism, government enforced atheism, abortionism, feminism, homosexualism, racism, wacko environmentalism, judicial activism, etc. We also oppose the United Nations or any other world government body that may attempt to impose its will or rule over our sovereign nation and sovereign people. We believe in defending our borders, our constitution and our national sovereignty.
Free Republic is private property. It is not a government project, nor is it funded by government or taxpayer money. We are not a publicly owned entity nor are we an IRS tax-free non-profit organization. We pay all applicable taxes on our income. We are not connected to or funded by any political party, news agency, or any other entity. We sell no merchandise, product or service, and we offer no subscriptions or paid memberships. We accept no paid advertising or promotions. We are funded solely by donations (non tax deductible gifts) from our readers and participants.
We aggressively defend our God-given and first amendment guaranteed rights to free speech, free press, free religion, and freedom of association, as well as our constitutional right to control the use and content of our own personal private property. Despite the wailing of the liberal trolls and other doom & gloom naysayers, we feel no compelling need to allow them a platform to promote their repugnant and obnoxious propaganda from our forum. Free Republic is not a liberal debating society. We are conservative activists dedicated to defending our rights, defending our constitution, defending our republic and defending our traditional American way of life.
Our God-given liberty and freedoms are not negotiable.
May God bless and protect our men and women in uniform fighting for our freedom and may God continue to bless America.
Jim Robinson

Mr. Robinson,
This is easily one of the most inspiring things I have ever read. Thank you, God bless you, and God bless America!

I was watching cartoons on Nickelodeon with my kids before they went to bed earlier, when a "Rock the Vote" ad went on...in the middle of Spongebob Squarepants.
Some idiot kid makes a statement to the fact that the government gets to decide "when my big brother goes to war", "how much money my grandmother gets from Social Security", and "who he can marry", but he gets to chose who they are by voting.
I was outraged!
My oldest son (8 years old) asked me what had upset me, and I said "that commercial" I said..."you mean the chose or lose one Daddy?"
This is bull$hit, that they should throw that crap at elementary school kids watching cartoons.
It's war Jim, and if we're not all standing on the same battlefield when it hits the fan, we will lose.
Matters of policy can be debated after we ensure ourselves that there will be someone in the White House who will listen to us...and John F'ing Kerry is not that man.
God Bless our nation, our troops, and our Commander in Chief.
Now, let's get busy!

Jim,
Thanks for such a clear and refreshing statement. You have graciously shared your web site with us all these years. You get to call the shots on who you let in. When you declare your values so clearly those of like mind will congregate here. This has been my cyber home for the last six years. It is a place where I feel at home and among friends. Keep up the good work.

Blessed are the "B-Bots" for they shall inherit the Earth.
And the SCOFFERS will gnash their teeth in the shadows and be forbidden from entering Paradise with the righteous few who endured the time of tribulation and did not lose faith! For they shall dwell in Eternity at the RIGHT hand of the Father as their reward. For they shall multiply and prosper as a result of their faith.
And the Scoffers will be cast into the lake of irrelevance, forever suffering in their regret that they will never again, find a place to debate with such dignified significance.
And the gnashing of teeth will be heard only by the few of their kind. And they will find no one to pity them.....

I know you've gotten hundreds of responses to your statement, and you probably won't even see this one.... but I just wanted to let you know. As much as I love this site, I've not promoted it, per say, to my family and friends. I have posted articles from it.
However, I just copied your words into an email and sent to all on my list. I'm normally hesitant to promote a website, but I was so moved by your words that I felt like I needed to share it.

Hi Jim.
I take it that your reitteration of the obvious is a direct result of those amphibians who may possibly lack the spine to debate on the issues, rather than paint with the broad brush.
Your site has become a primary source for me regarding news from around the globe. Political happenings in Israel, Iran, Iraq, Africa, Asia and Europe, as well as the great United States, are debated vigorously here. It's timely, concise posts remind me that I am not alone in seeing what the world is, or could become, for better or worse. My secondary sources are from the extreme left. That's all you need to know in order to understand that your site has enlightend me, and armed me with the ammunition I need to debate with the liberals of the world.
I do very well at developing and directing luchtime banter, and its all thanks to those who have educated me, right here.
At times, my fellow Freepers have been my only source, but it's one that has silenced a crowd with it's factual, and spiritual guidance. I think, in the most humble manner, that God would approve of a meeting where folks clearly see the value of every human being, and strategize to make self improvement possible for all.
For that, and more other Kudos than I can enumerate, Thank You.
I promise that I will give to your site once again, wehn you seek support.
