Kerry Gaffes in Front of the Press(Only FNC Covered Kerry's $87 Billion Flub)

Over the weekend, pundits agreed that Democratic candidate John Kerry had hurt his campaign with embarrassing goofball statements. “John Kerry had a bad week,” Ron Brownstein of the Los Angeles Times opined on NBC’s Meet the Press. “He said a few things he probably wished he hadn’t.”

“It was a brutal week for John Kerry,” MSNBC’s Chris Matthews seconded on his syndicated Chris Matthews Show.

“[Howard] Dean is no longer here to put his foot in his mouth, and so he has transferred his foot to John Kerry’s mouth,” former ABC White House correspondent Sam Donaldson told Matthews.

But the comment that pundits found so “ludicrous” (Matthews’ label) was initially deemed not worth mentioning by the liberal media. On March 16, Kerry was trying to condemn a new Bush-Cheney campaign commercial that took him to task for voting against a defense bill designed to aid U.S. troops in Iraq. “I actually did vote for the $87 billion before I voted against it,” Kerry lamely argued. The Bush campaign quickly incorporated Kerry’s laughable defense into a new version of the same ad.

That night, the CBS Evening News and CNN’s Inside Politics covered that Kerry event but chose sound bites that made the Democrat seem less of a parser; ABC and NBC skipped the whole story. Only FNC’s Special Report with Brit Hume showed the quote that night, as reporter Carl Cameron charitably commented that “the Senator lapsed into apparent double speak.”

ABC’s World News Tonight finally mentioned the quote the next night, March 17, only after Vice President Dick Cheney cited it in a speech tweaking Kerry’s record. The CBS Evening News has yet to put the gaffe on the air.

How can a quote be so bad that it ruins the Democratic candidate’s week, yet fail to catch any of the liberal networks’ attention? Maybe their reporters are only on the lookout for stories that punish conservatives.

The media entourage was with Kerry in Idaho, but, none, not one, reported that Kerry slipped and fell on the floor of a mini mart. This happened the night before Kerry cursed out the Secret Service agent and announced that he never fell.

The media clearly knew that Kerry fell-they had seen him take a header in the mini mart, the night before.
It was the owner of the mini mart who alerted the media and it was only reported by Richard Johnson, of the NY Post.
Just imagine if it had been President Bush who slipped and fell- the networks would be covering his clumsiness 24/7.

It was Carl Cameron and Fox News that got the story of Howard Dean being rude to a person asking him a question during a campaign appearance. Without Carl's eyes and ears, would any of the other news outlets ever have made it public?

Same thing today, with the background briefing by Clarke. There were 5 reporters on that conference call. Only Jim Angle thought it was worth bringing to the public.

It's the same thing with the foreign leaders remark -- it got very little coverage until Powell brought it up. And the cursing at the Secret Service agent still hasn't gotten much coverage in the media.

Maybe? MAYBE??

Try definitely. The Leftist media has a very clear agenda: always paint the Right in malevolent terms and only throw softballs to the other Leftists and always -- always -- show that the other Leftists had "the best of intentions" when they screw up.

The American media is being outed as Leftist and blatantly biased.

You can't imagine the impact of telling EVERYONE YOU KNOW that CNNABCNBCCBS are Socialist shills, the enemy of every American, and increasing the chance that you, your family, your friends will die.

Ridicule Kerry, Clinton and the alphabet news outlets at every opportunity.

JUST DO IT!

The communist broadcasting system for decades has been the leader, and poster boy, for the lefties. The other media swine following suit to present a united front. The honor in the print media belongs to the "Ole Gray Ho".

Thank heavens for the Fox team that has exposed the fact that they are propaganda machines out of step with America.

Amen ! FOX is great.

Stupid Bob Kerry in the 911 Hearing yesterday called FOX News 'despicable' for going public and exposing Clarke's two-face lying. I'm glad they did. I also sent a note to The Dallas Morning News linking to that FOX News report article too, to ask if they would print a story about that also. I need to check my email and see if they replied yet ...

The big story is the fact that, despite the "mainstream" media not covering it, it became well known across the entire country. The "mainstream" media had better wake up. You can just hear those corrupt journalists looking down down their noses and saying "there they go we must hasten after, for we are their leaders". ROTFLMCO

Remember that in 1993, former Sen Bob Kerrey cast the vote that set up the tie for Al bore to break and impose the large tax increase!

Before casting his vote, he said, "This is a bad budget that will hurt the American People, but I will not give my vote to help the other side bring down my president!"

Another data point that shows that medal of honor recipients do not always make decisions based on principle, unless of course the principle is practicing the essence of the Democrap Party, i.e., The Politics of Fear, Division, and Hatred!
