Immigrants swarm Carl Rove's home, pound on windows, demand support for DREAM act.

WASHINGTON, March 28 /U.S. Newswire/ -- Hundreds of grassroots leaders representing National People's Action (NPA) are paying a visit to the home of President Bush (news - web sites)'s Senior Policy Advisor Karl Rove on Sunday, March 28, because he refused to meet with them to discuss the rights of immigrant youth.

NPA and immigrant rights' leaders want the White House to support the Development, Relief, and Education for Alien Minors Act (DREAM Act). It would grant access to instate tuition for children of immigrants whose families have been in the county at least five years and paid taxes for three. The DREAM Act has 62 co-sponsors and the White House is standing in the way of it being brought to a vote this year.

NPA Leaders plan to arrive at Rove's house, located at 4925 Weaver Terrace, N.W., in Washington around 4 p.m. "We paid our way to come to Washington, D.C., to talk to Rove, and he wouldn't listen," said Tomasa Fonseca, an educator from Marshalltown, Iowa. "So we came to his house to ask him to support the dreams of our youth."

It is estimated that 50,000 to 65,000 undocumented students graduate from high school in the United States each year. Upon graduation these youth cannot work legally, nor can they qualify for in-state tuition at universities because they aren't considered residents.

Recently, the Bush administration came out in support of a guest worker plan, which would allow immigrant workers temporary residency for a maximum of six years. NPA leaders believe that Bush's plan will divide hard working immigrant families. The DREAM Act, on the other hand, is an example of positive immigration reform that would give immigrant youth the opportunity to realize the American Dream by becoming workers, tax payers and positive community leaders.

"We are here today to send a strong message to the Bush administration," said Emira Palacios, NPA Co-Chairperson. "We are telling them that if they want the Hispanic vote, they must give us the DREAM Act."

National People's Action is a 33-year-old multi-racial/ethnic, inter-generational non-partisan coalition of hundreds of local community organizations that volunteer their time to make communities throughout the United States safer, healthier and more stable environments.

Brazen, when the illegals show up at Rove's house and demand MORE rights, better jobs, more pay, free education.

Rove opened the can of worms with his/GW's illegal amnesty talk.

I would hope this is for legal immigrants only.

But if it's not, I must have missed the clause where it would require the criminals (illegal aliens) to turn themselves in and face prosecution for living here illegally over that 5 year period of time

Guess that old "Cheney's really the guy in charge" thing didn't work; now the liberals are trying to imply that Rove is really the boss man.

The two leaders who are key figures appear to be Emira Palacios and Inez Killingsworth, because they look like the people who secured NPA school buses full of 11 year-old kids to be used as human shields this weekend. Palacios and Killingsworth are employees of schools in Wichita and Cleveland. Let their employers know what they've been doing with taxpayer funds and the children entrusted to their care. If their employers don't care, move up the chain one step at a time.

Ms. Palacios is not only one of the leaders of National People's Action, the group that attacked Mr. Rove and his family in his home, Ms. Palacios is an employee of Cloud Elementary School in Wichita, Kansas. What's more, her co-chair at National People's Action, Ms. Inez Killingsworth, is an employee of Alexander Hamilton Middle School in Cleveland, Ohio.

It appears from this news article that Ms. Palacios and Ms. Killingsworth appropriated school buses and students from their respective schools. What's more, employees responsible for their students' safety appear to have purposefully placed these students into a violent and unpredictable situation, even encouraging them to form a mob and commit crimes against a person in his own home.

And they have threatened to do it again.

Ask the people responsible for Ms. Palacios and Ms. Killingsworth whether their school districts will continue to use taxpayer money to support political goon squads that attack people in their homes!

Ms. Palacios' Cloud Elementary School is located in District 6 of Wichita, Kansas. The Principal of the school is Ms. Carla Smith, and you can contact her by e-mail at csmith@usd259.net. The Board of Education member responsible for Cloud Elementary and Ms. Palacios is Mr. Lynn Rogers, and you can contact him by e-mail at lynnwrogers@sbcglobal.net.

Ms. Killingsworth's Alexander Hamilton Middle School is located in Cleveland, Ohio. The Principal of the school is Mr. Hiawatha Shivers, and he may actually be complicit in the attack (given his involvement with these activist organizations), but you can contact him at (216) 561-3880. The Chairwoman on the Cleveland Board of Education is Margaret Hopkins, and you can contact her at (216) 361-8254. However, given the politically charged nature of Cleveland education, it may be more fruitful to contact the State Superintendent for Education, Dr. Susan Zellman, at (877) 644-6338.

To: primeval patriot
what amnesty proposal? How is this different from the sugar cane workers who come in to pick crops? the seasonal temp workers in the Poconos?

The rolling amnesty has been around since the sixties. Illegals who hid long enough can get residency. This was upped by the republican congress to ten years.

This Dream program is about re-establishing the anchor babies that were removed as a residency excuse during the 1994 reforms. No longer can a baby be an excuse to stay. The adults and the minor child HAVE to go back. This will allow the anchor baby to attend school for a brief time (not 10 years) get legal status, and then bring in the rest of the family. Even so, an illegal born here or raised here can be used to bring the rest over.

The Dream program is NOT supported by BUSH. Dream program IS supported by John F'n Kerry.

THIS IS FOR A PROGRAM KERRY SUPPORTS AND BUSH DOES NOT

From Kerry's own website:
Fairness And Security In Immigration Policy

John Kerry believes that America needs immigration policies that are fair and safe. The United States is a diverse nation built by people from all parts of the world who are here because they believe in freedom, democracy, and justice. Immigration is central to our nation’s history, as almost all of us are immigrants or the descendants of immigrants. At the same time, John Kerry believes the federal government must secure our borders so that terrorists do not use our immigration system as a means to enter the country and do us harm.

Priorities

Efficient Citizenship and Enforcement Services
John Kerry supports efforts to cut the backlog of applications pending with the Bureau for Citizenship and Immigration Services, speed up the naturalization process and reduce the wait for family visas and other important matters. John Kerry has also called for reforming and adequately funding border enforcement to ensure that only legal immigrants can enter the country.

Restoring and Protecting Benefits for Legal Immigrants
John Kerry supports efforts to restore benefits to legal immigrants. The 1996 welfare reform law made most legal immigrants, including those already in the United States, ineligible for welfare, health care and other essential programs. In the years since, some of these benefits have been restored and John Kerry remains committed to fighting for the full restoration of benefits for legal immigrants.

Supporting the DREAM Act
John Kerry supports legislation that would provide immigration relief to undocumented young people who have spent their formative years in the United States, who have graduated from high school here, and who can demonstrate good moral character. The DREAM Act repeals a law that prevents these promising young people from attending college in the United States.

Family Reunification
John Kerry believes that we should unite and not divide families by making family reunification the cornerstone of our immigration system. John Kerry supports allowing immigrants who are eligible for permanent resident visas to be processed in the United States rather than processed in their home country. He also supports restoring the discretion of immigration judges to evaluate cases on an individual basis and grant relief to deserving immigrants and their families.

Expedited Citizenship for Members of the Armed Forces
John Kerry believes the naturalization process for legal permanent residents serving in the Armed Forces should be expedited, the naturalization filing fee should be waived, and armed service members should be allowed to naturalize overseas. More than 37,000 legal permanent residents serve in the military nationally.

Earned Legalization
John Kerry supports a proposal that will allow undocumented immigrants to legalize their status if they have been in the United States for a certain amount of time, have been working, and can pass a background check. This makes sense for the economy, provides fairness to people in our communities who have worked hard and paid taxes, and will also allow us to strengthen our homeland security by bringing undocumented workers out of the shadows and into the light of greater accountability.

I doubt any of these people were illegal. They were hired idiots bussed in and told what to say.

This is exactly why I would never be hired in Rove's job. If they didn't get off my property, I would have demanded their arrest. Had they touched my windows, I would have filled a good many of them with shotgun induced rocksalt.

Lets get the strikeout above straight first.

I strongly believe these people that are illegally here and got a High School education on MY dime (and your's too fellow taxpayers) should be allowed to go to college.

First they should pay for all the services (school, welfare {if applicable) food stamps {if applicable} and other gov assistance as applies) that they have already availed themselves of.

Then they should go back to their OWN country and try to bring it up to the standards of the USA.

Then they can apply for citizenship through the proper channels here as the wife of a friend of mine has been trying for years to do for his wife who is in Mexico City.

She is going through all the red tape and it is taking her years while thousands just walk across the borders into our schools and hospitals and jobs.
