WASHINGTON (Talon News) -- On Sunday, busloads of hostile demonstrators converged on the Washington, DC home of President Bush's chief political strategist, Karl Rove. Several hundred people carrying signs surrounded the house, pounding on the windows and shouting slogans.
The protest was organized by National People's Action, a coalition of groups whose advocacy includes rights for illegal immigrants and increased government funding for a wide range of social programs.
The philosophy of their confrontational tactics is embodied in their official song: "Who's on your hit list NPA? Who's on your hit list for today? Take no prisoner, take no names. Kick 'em in the ass when they play their games."
The Washington Post reported that the group demanded Rove come out of his house to meet with them about one of their issues. Rove opened the door long enough to ask them to leave.
Secret Service agents and D.C. police were summoned but the crowd was dispersed only after Rove allowed two of the protestors into his garage. Their two-minute conversation ended abruptly when Rove closed the garage door. No arrests were made.
One of the demonstration leaders who briefly met with the president's aide told the Washington Post that Rove was "very upset" and was "yelling in our faces" and that Rove told them "he hoped we were proud to make his 14-year-old and 10-year-old cry."
Coalition leaders said other protests were planned for the homes of Secretary of Labor Elaine Chao and Secretary of Agriculture Ann Veneman.

And to think, these are the same people Mr. Rove and the President are trying to court with their amnesty initiative.

The protest was organized by National People's Action, a coalition of groups whose advocacy includes rights for illegal immigrants and increased government funding for a wide range of social programs. This is a new tactic, organized and funded by the Mexican government to influence our immigration policies. These people are showing up at city council meetings to agitate and kick up a fuss, with the intention of intimidating politicians. Expect to see a lot more of this, America, and not just in the Southwest; the vast inflow of illegals means this problem is coming to your town, wherever you are.

It isn't just mobs cajun. When the left can't get the Presidency, the Senate or the House, or the Courts, and when they are out of power in general, they resort to their old standbys, violence and terrorism. So far it is intimidation. But in the future, it will be violence and finally, terrorism. The left is a destabilizing presence.
In essence, the left operates on mafia principles. Give them power, and they will only take so much money, for now, and take only so much of our freedoms, for now. The longer they are in power, the more they take and the more they demand.
These people have what appears to be a heightened sense of entitlement. They believe they are deserving of the positions of power and privilege in society. Once they are denied their entitlements, they literally become mentally unhinged, and I empathize with the people they set their sights on. Rove may be the first of many who will be harassed, or worse, by the commie rent-a-mobs.

I don't think it is really anything "new." It is just that the left is using old tactics on people who haven't experienced those tactics. To the targets of the left, these things seem "new."

I agree.
We are clearly moving in that direction and the Bush administration seems to be championing the cause with its amnesty, I'm sorry, "guest worker" program.

That is true enough. I wonder how many elections have been won by cheating Democrats. When they can't cheat, they resort to dirtier tactics.
