Senators revisit global warming

Sens. John McCain and Joe Lieberman, after losing the battle last year, yesterday reintroduced their bipartisan bill to curb global warming, saying scientific evidence of its harmful effects are now "irrefutable."

Mr. McCain, Arizona Republican, and Mr. Lieberman, Connecticut Democrat, were joined yesterday by a host of House members who introduced a similar bill on Monday. The senators' bill was defeated 43-55 on the Senate floor last year, but both said things have changed and that they expect a different outcome this time.

If the hypothesis about global warming is true, it may be good for the US. Look at a map of the US and compare it to the county by county map of the 2000 presidential election. It is mostly blue RAT areas that would be flooded by rise in global sea level. None of the states that voted for Bush would be completely flooded while several RAT states might have to be removed from the union. This would subtract electoral votes and senators from those states. New Jersey, Rhode Island, Delaware, Maryland, and Connecticut might cease being states.

Perhaps this pair of rocket scientists could focus on the issues that matter, like increasing defense spending which could help avoid catostrophic global warming in the event of a nuclear exchange as the result of having a weak ground force.
