"1. Increasing the "body bag count", so as to dismay American voters, and to persuade them to elect a candidate (such as John Kerry) more to the terrorists' liking."

Most likely President Bush knew the attacks would increase leading up to the election, and that's why he sent the marines back in.

Exactly, as a matter of fact I have heard it stated that the administration predicted that the attacks would increase in the run up to the election. It's a sign of desperation.

I'm still waiting for YOU to post your solution.

I've posted the solution on this forum TWICE and was ignored. One more time (the absolute last -- I promise):

In Mexico, we had teams who went down to help check the spread of foot-and-mouth disease in the 1940's. They were killing herds of cattle. The Catholic priests were instigating resistance along with local hotheads and some members of the cattle-killing teams were being murdered.

A Mexican colonel, a sharp fellow, rolled into one of the problem towns one day with sufficient men and rounded up the hotheads AND the Catholic priest. He had ropes thrown over nearby trees en el centro (downtown) and had the insurgents placed on stands with the ropes around their necks. He then announced to the people, "If one more person is killed in the process of doing their duty to kill cattle to stop this disease, these men are going to hang." A crowd quickly gathered and a solution was found. The teams were left alone and not another individual was killed.

The very same thing can be done in Fallujah. Round up known radicals (people will point them out) and the local Imam. Give the same message. Keep them in custody and if another person is killed, execute them publicly. The killing WILL stop. Now, as usual, my suggestions are often ignored. Do NOT ask me again.

The title of this post is misleading. If I'm not mistaken, they were all American's, brutally murderd in broad day light inside a city of one MILLION.

I believe there is one person who has the power to make it stop and will. Your anger is misdirected at me and every other poster you have responded to.

Yes, perhaps you are right. I only know I have the will to do what it takes to solve the problem. It doesn't matter who complains, who thinks it wasn't the right step, it just matters that the problem be more or less (at least for the next 100+ years) solved. Perhaps our form of government is to a degree the problem. As a democracy, it is impossible to take the kind of action that must be taken until too many people have died because we must have a consensus of sorts. Yet, we are not ready for our "Caesar", are we?

I'm still waiting for YOU to post your solution.

Also, the other day, I posted we should lay siege to the city of Fallujah. Give them so much time to hand over the individuals responsible. If the deadline is not met, then every man, woman and child in the city dies. I posted that before and I'll post it again. History will show that Islamic-type belief understands nothing else but raw force. Look at how Genghis Khan handled the Middle East. It is all really very simple. The problem is not solutions, the problem is someone with the will to effect the solutions. I also posted how a woman in the Old Testament kept Israel from destroying her city. The Jewish army was after a bad person and when the army approached the gates, she said something to the effect of, "Are you going to kill ALL of us?" The commander answered, "No, I only seek one man." She answered, "His head will be thrown to you over the wall. And it was. The answers are there. America has lost the ability to find them.

I like your solution. Problem is, political correctness and diplomacy always get in the way. What needs to be understood by the American government, and any others fighting terrorism, is that these barbarians do not understand diplomacy and could give a crap about PC.

Thank you and others for well-thought-out responses even if in disagreement. I am open to debate, and will not tolerate abusive dialogue. This is my last post on this thread and my hope is that all of you will read it well.

My wife, who deals with the general public, has heard that individuals connected with the military are livid. That would be Republicans in general. They are angry that either: 1. Bush has not ordered solutions like the ones I mentioned above. or 2. Pulled the troops out completely and let the Iraqis, Sunnis, Kurds, Shiites, inbred whatever kill each other. Bush is goign to lose the Presidential election if something is not done within a relatively short time frame. Case closed. That is a BIG part of my rage and anger. I don't like the decisions being made either. However, I would rather die than live under another Administration which will end up worse than the one Bill Clinton brought us. Criticism of Bill Clinton caused me problems that will never go away. If Kerry comes into office, I will simply have to endure it and keep my mouth shut. Life would not be worth living. Why we cannot find leadership who stands up and tells the world what it needs to hear from us I do not know. I have the will, but not the means ($$) to get into office and to get the ($$) one must become a political prostitute.

Last, but not least, here is the passage to which I alluded earlier:

2 Samuel 20:13 As soon as he was removed from the highway, all the men passed on after Joab to pursue Sheba the son of Bichri.
2 Samuel 20:14 Now he went through all the tribes of Israel to Abel even to Beth-maacah and all the Berites; and they were gathered together and also went after him.
2 Samuel 20:15 And they came and besieged him in Abel Beth-maacah, and they cast up a mound against the city, and it stood by the rampart; and all the people who were with Joab were wreaking destruction in order to topple the wall.
2 Samuel 20:16 Then a wise woman called from the city, "Hear, hear! Please tell Joab, 'Come here that I may speak with you.'"
2 Samuel 20:17 So he approached her, and the woman said, "Are you Joab?"And he answered, "I am."Then she said to him, "Listen to the words of your maidservant."And he answered, "I am listening."
2 Samuel 20:18 Then she spoke, saying, "Formerly they used to say, 'They will surely ask advice at Abel,' and thus they ended the dispute.
2 Samuel 20:19 "I am of those who are peaceable and faithful in Israel. You are seeking to destroy a city, even a mother in Israel. Why would you swallow up the inheritance of the Lord?"
2 Samuel 20:20 And Joab answered and said, "Far be it, far be it from me that I should swallow up or destroy!
2 Samuel 20:21 "Such is not the case. But a man from the hill country of Ephraim, Sheba the son of Bichri by name, has lifted up his hand against King David. Only hand him over, and I will depart from the city."And the woman said to Joab, "Behold, his head will be thrown to you over the wall."
2 Sameul 20:22 Then the woman wisely came to all the people. And they cut off the head of Sheba the son of Bichri and threw it to Joab. So he blew the trumpet, and they were dispersed from the city, each to his tent. Joab also returned to the king at Jerusalem.

Let the reader understand. If the reader can not understand, the reader can NOT be helped any more.
