Bah, I don't see why Frankin should have the jitters.

It's not like anyone is actually really listening to him.

The only listeners he had were the critics so they could write an article. XM radio subscribers ain't payin for that crap either. They are listening to hip hop and rap.

Sad to say, I didn't see the movie and only caught a fragment or two of Franken doing that bit on SNL. I thought he was pretty funny. Most humor evolves from some personal experience, even if you're just watching something happen to someone else you care about. I hope Franken's upbringing didn't factor in with that...but suspect it did. Laughter is how we cope, of course. My ex never figured that out. He always accused me of 'not caring'. Now he's living with his second wife (a harpy of the first water), and her mother in a small, but ritzy house in a gated community (golf course for a backyard), in Texas. Hehehe. I bet he still hasn't cultivated a sense of humor, poor man.

I've always loved the twisted comic genius of Michael O'Donoghue. You've just given me another reason to love him!

Now, where's my copy of "Mr. Mike's Mondo Video"?

I always thought that the Stuart Smalley stuff was due to Franken's experiences with his own family. It wasn't. Franken started going to Al-Anon meetings to help his comic partner Tom Davis, who apparently had a substance abuse problem.

You're right. I forgot.
