Agreed, that's why it's important to be looking ahead for solutions. Looking back & trying to place "blame" on what happened is not going to help in defeating the Hydra that is AQ. Too often it seems we get caught up in fighting the battles of the past with old tactics - the Maginot Line is a prime example of that type of thinking.

However, I heard on the news a few days ago (not CNN, obviously) that the top Al Queda guy in custody said they had plans for follow up attacks after 9-11, but the response was so drastic that they were never able to carry them out. That says an aweful lot about how effective our targeting is, despite the obvious lapses in intelligence.
