Yahoo set expectations this way:
The nonfarm payrolls consensus estimate is set at +123K - although whisper numbers have been as high as 200K and the bears have been equally as active in pointing out that the last 4 nonfarm numbers have missed the consensus estimate...

From an AP article this morning, before this news hit: Economists expect to see between 103,000 and 120,000 new jobs created in March, up from 21,000 in February. The unemployment rate is expected to hold steady at 5.6 percent. I'd say this is good news for the country, and of course, bad news for John Kerry.

My question is how many are truely unemployed? Unemployment rates don't include students or unemployed people that have given up searching for a job.

This is not a banner morning for the DemsIt won't be reported this way, but the steady ramping up of the 'new jobs created' numbers over the past six months are gonna make John Effin Kerry's claim of 10 million new jobs in "his" adminstration look either laughable or like a scheme to hold the American Economy back.

Democrats: DAMN! Well, we can always hope that a few more servicemen get killed and get dragged through the streets... That's the saddest thing about this election, that they have to hope for tragedy so they can blame Bush. Where are their priorities?

Unemployment rates don't include students or unemployed people that have given up searching for a job.Nor do they include those who leave the 'employee' workforce to become self-employed, by starting their own enterprise.

I'm hearing that a settled grocery strike in CA accounts for about 72,000 of these jobs. But even factoring that out, it leaves a very good number.
The RATS are eating their hearts out and tearing at their fur.

Yes, but watch for this spin: The unemployment rate ticket up by .1 -- the democrats have never focused on job creation, unemployment is what is important. And why did it take so long to create jobs? You can't take away the fact that people were out of work for a long time and will never recover.
