You've heard of "jury nullification?" This was JUROR nullification---one juror (rightly or wrongly) decided that this case was unsupportable.

Her fingers - what I heard is she was a retired teacher and lawyer.

Outside influence on a juror, based on publication of her name in the New York Post and Wall Street Journal. Juror had at least one contact (Dagen McDowell didn't say who it was) over the weekend. Juror was also received threatening/coercise letter within the last 24 hours (AP via Fox).

Mistrial declared in Tyco corruption trial

NEW YORK - A judge declared a mistrial Friday in the six-month case against two former Tyco International executives accused of looting the company of $600 million, citing intense outside pressure placed on one of the jurors.
The decision came on the 12th day of deliberations in the case against former chief executive L. Dennis Kozlowski and former chief finacial officer Mark Swartz.
"It is certainly a shame that this has to be done at this time," state Supreme Court Justice Michael Obus told the jurors.
