[history]
WASHINGTON -- Iraq has become "George Bush's Vietnam," Sen. Edward M. Kennedy said Monday, calling the president deceitful and for the first time comparing him to former President Nixon, who resigned in disgrace.
Saying that truth has become the biggest casualty of the Bush administration, Kennedy said Bush misled the public about the war, the economy, health care and education, eroding the nation's reputation at home and abroad.

I think this explains why Kerry chose to make his Vietnam war experience a part of the campaign. It is strategic, and the play is multi-card.
First, Kerry brings up Vietnam with the implication that he is a hero, GW is not, and that he opposed that terrible war...relying on people's failing memories as to what went wrong in Vietnam... mainly the Democrats running it from Washington... to suggest that the protesters were the good guys and those who supported the troops, and the troops themselves were the bad guys.
Here we are now, with Fat Teddy making this "Bush's War" when WE THE PEOPLE supported it, and raising the spectre of Vietnam despite the fact that this is NOTHING like Vietnam... although the dems are doing their best to make it one... undermining the troops, politicizing the war, undermining our leaders.
WE THE PEOPLE need to convey our support for the troops. What they are doing is the right thing. I am really bummed that our troops are coming home in civilian clothes, dispersed into the crowds with no formal recognition for what they have done. I have a friend whose son just got back. He got NOTHING in the way of recognition for his valor from anyone but his family. No parade.
I say, "Hug a soldier if ya see one". Tell them thanks.
Don't let the dems bring down this great victory of freedom for political gain.
Damn the dems who are driving this effort. Damn them!

In the Dems case it's too bad that the Sedition Act of 1918, I think that's the right year can't be used. If it could there would be an awful lot of surprised folks on the left.
In Ted's case in particular I think he's suffering from "Brain Freeze" from too much Ben&Jerry's.

Doesn't this jerk realize there's a war on? Doesn't he know we're fighting over there right now, right at this moment? It's hard to believe that even Kerry would make a statement as stupid as this.
The man is costing US lives by encouraging the enemy. In my book, that's treason.

For Kennedy it's make-or-break time. His fortunes are tied to Kerry. If Bush is re-elected, Kennedy will likely retire from public life and live out his days bitter that he never got his shot at the Oval Office. If Kerry is elected, Kennedy will stay on and possibly even enjoy life back in the majority.

Senator Kennedy is a complete disgrace. Our Country is at war with fanatics intent on destroying U.S.. Our Country was attacked. We are in the process of eliminating those threats. Senator Kennedy's remarks offer nothing more than
aid and comfort to our enemies. I regard Senator Kennedy as standing alongside and supporting our enemies after these most recent remarks of his today. I regard Senator Kennedy as an enemy as of today. I do not demand anything of Senator Kennedy. After today's remarks by Senator Kennedy, there is nothing he could do or say to ever change my feelings regarding him . I will just now dissmiss whatever Senator Kennedy says from now on until Hell Freezes over. If I see him start to say anything on the screen, I will walk away or turn the channel immediately away from him. May God Grant Forgiveness and Mercy on Senator Kennedy's Soul. I do not ever want to have anything to do with Senator Kennedy ever again, period. Hence, I forever will tune him out.

If Ted Kennedy prattling on about Bush's "credibility gap" is the best these clowns can do, I like our chances in November. That this fool is out there lecturing the ignorant masses on deceitfulness is the irony of all ironies.
Adulterer, drunkard, manslaughterer(is this a word), these are his most notable accomplishments.
To: Paloma_55
Kennedy should be an expert on that since his boy Lyndon put 500,000 plus troops on the ground there before Republicans could regain the White House, but he isn't.
Kennedy is a Fonda wanna be. Nothin much lower than that, except whale stuff.

Kennedy uses the words "deceitful" and "truth"? Since when did he become pious and truthful? He still hasn't owned up to doing the breaststroke to get away from a drowning date. It truly is no wonder that Americans have lost so much faith in their government when the likes of this guy keep getting reelected.
Vietnam is Kerry's Oldsmobile. Or something.

What the Democrats don't understand is that the Islamist fundamentalists declared War on us almost 25 years ago when they stormed the US Embassy in Tehran.
We can't stop the war because we didn't start it.
However, we can choose where we fight the war. And I would much rather have them fight the war in Afghanistan and Baghdad than in Chicago, Oklahoma City, or St. Louis.
And I would much rather the terrorists fight our soldiers than have them blow up our trains, buses, and cafes.

I hope the libs get louder, more shrill, they'll see a landslide they won't believe.
"War is an ugly thing but not the ugliest of things; the decayed and degraded state of moral and patriotic feelings which thinks that nothing is worth war is much worse. A man who has nothing for which he is willing to fight, nothing which is more important than his own personal safety, is a miserable creature and has no chance of being free unless made and kept so by the exertions of better men than himself."

The irony in all this is that Teddy the white whale accuses Bush of doing everything that Bubba did do while he was in office. He just got the names wrong. Lots of elder Dems seem to be loosing credibility during this election cycle. It's called desperately seeking a win they know they can't get if they played it straight.

you and our other Veterans for serving, for teaching your children the difference between right and wrong, for caring about the truth.
AP is a disgrace.
We had a crash course in unprofessional journalistic ethics here in Florida, election 2000 and 2002.
Florida's mainstream press (Gannett, esp., and AP) printed DNC opinion as news....even DNC opinion re. Republican candidates and policies, staged fake polls - and when caught, did it again - while ignoring real GOP accomplishments, endorsements - news.
We ended up bypassing the press and e-mailing news to friends and neighbors, friendly groups - homeschoolers, church groups, Veterans, and of course we held rallies and stood up in the public square...and it worked.
The DNC still doesn't know what happened because for the first time in their cheating years....we slid under their radar - they couldn't track public opinion when people were learning through the net, out of their sight and away from their spin artists.
Gave me the idea to set up my homepage, create an e-mail list...to get out the non-wanker war news for the troops.
Ted and friends have each other...and that is a sorry end, indeed.
