Kerry: Terrorist Shiite Al-Sadr 'A Legitimate Voice'
NewsMax.com ^ | April 7, 2004 | Carl Limbacher

In an interview broadcast Wednesday morning, Democratic presidential candidate John Kerry defended terrorist Shiite imam Moqtada al-Sadr as a "legitimate voice" in Iraq, despite that fact that he's led an uprising that has killed nearly 20 American GIs in the last two days.

Speaking of al-Sadr's newspaper, which was shut down by coalition forces last week after it urged violence against U.S. troops, Kerry complained to National Public Radio, "They shut a newspaper that belongs to a legitimate voice in Iraq."

In the next breath, however, the White House hopeful caught himself and quickly changed direction, adding, "Well, let me . . . change the term legitimate. It belongs to a voice — because he has clearly taken on a far more radical tone in recent days and aligned himself with both Hamas and Hezbollah, which is a sort of terrorist alignment."

But Kerry again seemed to voice sympathy for the Shiite terrorist when asked whether he supported al Sadr's arrest. "Not if it’s an isolated act without the other kinds of steps necessary to change the dynamics on the ground in Iraq," Kerry told NPR, in quotes first reported by the New York Sun.

"If all we do is make war against the Iraqi people and continue an American occupation, fundamentally, without a clarity as to who and how sovereignty is being turned over, we have a very serious problem for the long run here," Kerry added. "And I think this administration is just walking dead center down into that trap."

On March 28, the U.S.-led coalition authorities closed al-Sadr's newspaper, al-Hawza, for 60 days, the Sun reported. L. Paul Bremer, the chief U.S. administrator in Iraq, charged that said the newspaper had published false stories blaming the coalition forces for local acts of terrorism.

Ditto. He's run out of feet to shoot himself in, but the media will gloss over this just like everything else.

"Every opinion is equally valid"... pure BS. Those who flew airliners into the Towers had an opinion. They thought Americans should be killed for the vile offense of being Americans. It was NOT equally valid with the opinions of those in the Towers, who just wanted to go to work, go home to their families, and watch tv.

Please accept my humble apologies here, but I have to rant this: This SOB Kerry has got to go! What a slime ball. If America elects this SOB, I am moving out because this nation will cease to be what it was founded as!

So killing, dismembering and hanging the remains of Americans from a bridge is a legitimate voice?

Oh, I forgot! J Fn' Kerry was a member of a group who believed that the violent overthrow of the US government was a voice for peace!

Kerry, you animal, Go the F away!

From the pen of the inmitable Israeli cudgemeon Steven Plaut, comes this report on the events in Fallujah signed by a guy John F. Kerry would also praise to the heavens given the chance:

No FAIR! A Letter of Protest to an American Soldier from a Fallujah Activist

Hey, yank. NO FAIR! You did not behave the way you were supposed to. Sure, all we did was kill some American soldiers in cold blood and drag their bodies through the streets for people to spit on. But that is certainly not a reason for you guys to react the way you did.

Well, to tell you the truth, we expected you to react like Israelis. We figured that if we kill a few of your people, your government will start whining about how there is no military solution to the problems of terror, that the problem is that the world has failed to understand the suffering of the Iraqi "Other", and that occupation is the worst crime on the planet. We expected your government to react like Shimon Peres, and to offer to arm the people who murdered the soldiers and bankroll them, to help put them in power lest the really radical terrorists take power. We were sure the yanks would invite the Shi'ite and Sunni militia chief who are killing American and Allied soldiers to set up their own state and to annex sections of Washington DC.

I mean, why should not the Americans respond to our terror the same way the Israelis do? Why do they not label our killers activists and militants? Why do they not try to win us over with goodwill gestures and concessions? Why do they not offer to change the American national anthem and the flag to make us feel more accepted? Why do they not let our agents serve as Congressmen and Senators? Why do they not pay subsidies to the widows and orphans of Iraqi suicide bombers, like the Israelis do? Why doesn't the American President lecture his public about how the whole war is their own fault, that they have been insensitive and trying to rule over another people? Why doesn't the US respond to the terror by disarming unilaterally, like the Israelis do? Why don't the Americans send delegations to Geneva to sign agreements in which they capitulate to all our demands? Why don't they offer us control over the Washington Monument and Lincoln Memorial? Why don't they let us move to Virginia and Maryland in the thousands?

Not only are you not behaving like Israelis, but you are not even behaving like Clinton. We recall how Clinton ordered the Americans to run away with their tails between their legs when the Somalis killed a few. SO how dare you!

How dare you round up and mow down 130 Iraqi terrorists in just one day? How dare you respond to our Tet Offensive, our Intifada, through force of arms? How dare you respond other than with cowardice and defeatism? How dare you fight back? How dare you exhibit courage?

Have you not learned anything at all from the Israelis? Don't you know there are no military ways to fight terror?

Signed,
A Fallujah Activist

Typical of Kerry...He doesn't belong as a leader in the senate much leader the leader of the free world.

What a pinhead. Expected however, from this so-called "war hero" who gave aid and comfort to the enemy in Vietnam.

OMG, why doesn't Kerry just grab a grenade launcher and join these 'insurgents'? He certainly couldn't do any more damage to the fighting men in Iraq than he is with his mouth. This guy is a threat to our national security.

Thank you so much for posting this!

I heard part of the interview. Kerry is a nutter. From his "Fuzzy Wuzzy" wife, to his interest in rap, he is a nutter. But the good thing is that I believe some libs also are recognizing this.

I heard an excerpt of the interview by Bob Edwards after the 7:00 Am newscast. Edwards (I thought) really pushed Kerry on the Iraq matter. Even when Kerry wanted to change the topic to the economic policy speech he is giving today, Edwards steered the interview back to the testimony of Dr. Rice (set to take place tomorrow?). You could tell that Kerry was getting peeved. But more importantly, I got the impression by the tone, inflection and meter of Bob Edwards voice, that Edwards is highly dubious of Kerry.

If the voters of this country are stupid enough to elect Kerry as President, then we deserve whatever hideous fate befalls us.
