Roosevelt raised, Hempstead and Freeport educated. Carleton Reinhour, aka Chuck D, nevertheless created It Takes a Nation of Millions to Hold Us Back on of the few hip hop albums I ever liked. I prefer it more for Terminator X's expert DJing than for its politics.

Chuck D once cited Knicks commentator Marv Albert as an influence on his Rapping, I kid you not!

Whoops, his name is spelled "Ridenhour." I need some more coffee.

Marv, or Marv's hair hat?

Hey, isn't it kind of early for you to be here tonight?! ;D

Maybe Chuck meant to say "Herb Alpert" and not "Marv Albert":

Listen to the Whipped Cream remixes (a 2-sided vinyl single) by The Evolution Control Committee. It puts Chuck's raps over Herb Alpert and the Tia Juana Brass.

Another single they released has Dan Ratherbiased listing atrocities ("rocked by rape") over AC/DC's Back In Black riff.

Educated in the corruptionally diseased Hempstead School District? That explains a lot, where half the student body doesn't show up for school. Chuck D's listenership hold themselves back. I feel a tirade coming on *LOL* so I'll shut up now.

Terminator X is the man! I love the way he weaves wild sounds like sirens or crowds into his mixes. As groundbreaking in his way as Grandmaster Flash.
