My prayers for you - the guy is a hopeless, delusional lefty.

Unfortunately liberal thougtht is shaped via emotion; common sense is not a realistic alternative.

No matter what you say, no matter how much you attempt to reason with him, you will fail. They travel the road that is least reasoned.

He is blind to the truth and will follow the holy grail of liberalism wherever it should lead him.

People like him finally "get it" when world wars are upon us. It is not in their mindset to believe that these wars could have been avoided if their cause was addressed early and forcefully.

Just tell him to pick up some history books that detail what lead up to WWII; ask him to study the real story of what forced the Christian crusades. We are reliving those times once again - it is as it was.

If he is intellectually honest - he may see things as they are after doing so.

The answer is very easy at this time of year. It is Easter! Simply tell him that you, and you are sure, all other right thinking folks, forgive him.

Tell him you understand his pain and self-loathing. Tell him you understand his shame at having supported Willie, the lying scumbag and lying time and time again to support him. Tell him that it is natural for him to take that self-hatred and point it at some innocemt (in this case, Bush) in an effort to relieve his own pain.

Tell him that you know he would aim the blind self-disgust as anyone else and if it wasn't Bush, it might be another relative, his boss, a baseball player, an advisor (like a broker or tax preparer). Tell him that he should not be concerned about his foolish stupidity and should understand that it is irrational and without factual support. Tell him that, despite all of this, you forgive him. He may be too stupid to understand forgiveness but at least it will piss him off.
